I was under the assumption that Boo just wanted opportunities to play on the offensive side of the ball, not become the starter. The slot position in our offense is incredibly important and our lack of production from that spot has definitely been noticed the past 2 years. If he still wants to play defense I don’t think he can get away being a full time player like Travis Hunter. Playing 100 + snaps a game in the SEC is a little different than the Big 12.
