Stand-up Comedians

I've grown to like John Mulaney's stand up. Him and Nick Kroll are hilarious together, but his solo stand-ups on Netflix are pretty funny.

Also he's coming to Knoxville in June.

I should give Mulaney another chance I love him with Kroll too but then he tried to do a multi cam sitcom and I was like wtf dude.

I looked at tickets for Mulaney in Scottsdale but his website wasn't working. Not sure if he's ready to sell, yet, but he just announced dates.

The amazing thing about Mulaney's standup appeal is that his sitcom is the biggest pile of **** I've ever seen.

Tosh is coming to Knoxville but tickets are insane expensive and it is supposed to be a "College tour."

I heard that Chapelle is getting backlash because he made fun Bruce, i mean Caitlyn Jenner. Lebatard was being critical of him for doing so on his show this morning. Come on man.

Watched 'em. Both hilarious.

If anything the backlash should be his half hearted defense of Bill Cosby.

He's also the SNL writer who would cold feed Bill Hader his must see clubs on the Stefan bits during Weekend Update. Broke Hader up each time.

I firmly believe Kyle Kinane is the best, most original comic working today. Very intelligent, well crafted bits about every little aspect of the human experience. I had the opportunity to see him live in Chattanooga several months ago. He rarely repeats material and if he does, he adds to and improves it somehow. Often does well beyond an hour. Also had the pleasure of seeing Tom segura in Atlanta in January. He too delivered. If you are not familiar with these two, do yourself a favor and look them up.

I hadn't heard of Kinane until last week, he was the guest on this youtube show i watch about people eating hot wings (First We Feast). He was funny and i learned that he's the voice over guy for Comedy Central.

I've seen Kyle a couple times. He opened for Jim Gaffigan here in Knox years ago. Great guy.

If you like Kyle, you'd prob dig Geoff Tate. He's also got a solid podcast about Cheers.

Also recommend Kill Tony if you like stand-up. I watch every Monday. So many good guests and great episodes.

Anyone here ever see Dom Irrera?
I have seen him 4X...I put him up there with the Kings of Comedy.

I liked George Carlin until he became old & bitter.

Mitch Hedburg-he always left me laughing. He had a great way of recovering when he screwed up a joke.

I'm going to see Anthony Jeselnik in Nashville this Saturday. This will be the first time I've seen him live. Looking forward to it.

He's getting backlash because, especially with the Texas one, he feels like he's appealing to the LCD without actually making it funny.

Two new Chappelle specials dropped this week. Mike Birblgiua (Sp?) has a new one that is really good. Gaffigan has a new one on there too. Schumer's was hoorendous and I like most of her stuff.

Birbiglia is ridiculously underrated, IMO. He's hilarious

I saw him at the Lincoln Theater in DC and really enjoyed it. Have a good time :dance2:

Podcast listeners should try Tuesdays With Stories. It's Mark Normand and Joe List. I learned about it while listening to You Made it Weird and it's pretty hilarious. Incredibly off-color, but will make you laugh out loud.

I'll check it out. I saw like 6 acts at the comedy cellar and I thought MN was the best one.

It was amazing. I was losing it the whole time. I was also laughing at the table of women next to us who just complained about how offended they were the whole show.

He did a 5-10 minute bit where he just took random questions from the audience and built a solid joke on each question. One of the more impressive improv segments I've seen at a stand-up show. He seems like a really smart guy.

John Mulaney will be all over the NC/TN area in June. They moved many of the shows to larger venues due to ticket demand. The Orange Peel in Asheville had sold out, but after they moved the show to the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, I was able to get tickets. I think the Knoxville show may have changed venues also.
