Rey will be one of multiple Rey clones designed to house emperors soul.
Rey will be a clone of OWK and queen of mandalors son.
Their son will be the mandakorian in tv show and he will be force sensitive.
Rey was abandoned to keep her from emperor.
The dark Rey will be another clone.
This is me guessing but we will find out soon.
The Mandalorian takes place right after RotJ. I think it’s going to be more of a space western and unconnected to the Skywalker Saga.
My two cents:
Rey is a clone created by a program begun by Palpatine just in case his physical body was killed (making her parents "no-bodies"). Palps performed an Essence Transfer before "dying" in the shaft Vader threw him in. Palps wasn't ready to transfer since he was still grooming Vader as his vessel to take advantage of Vader's strength in the Dark Side and was forced to transfer to a "backup vessel". This left Palps weakened but still able to direct the clone program. The current Rey clone was "engineered" to be innately Force powerful (yet still unaligned) *cough, cough, midi-chlorians, hack, cough* but was "stolen" somehow before Palps made his final Essence Transfer, with her captors taking baby Rey and escaping from the Unknown regions to hide her on a desert planet and be raised by someone else (anyone else seeing a parallel here?). Sidenote: Palps may even have intended her to be his next apprentice seeing as how even the most powerful apprentice he ever had went back to the Light Side at the end. Her having never been exposed to the Light Side would make it impossible for her to turn to it before Palps could transfer to her. In any case, Palps tracks down Rey and "possesses" her. This makes Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) the most powerful force user left to challenge Palps/Rey since Ben Solo is a direct descendant of Anakin Skywalker. Leia tracks Kylo down and convinces him that he has to take on Palps/Rey, no matter what, especially if he wants to be emperor (which he apparently very much does). During the ensuing fight Palps says something snarky about having beaten three generations of Skywalkers causing Kylo to "turn" to the light side, (his mom's side "rises"), enabling him to access both light and dark sides of the Force to defeat Palps/Rey, in effect ultimately "balancing the Force". This leads to Ben Solo adopting the title "Skywalker" honoring both his father (for obvious reasons) and his Uncle Luke, who was, quite literally, a "skywalker" after projecting himself from Ahch-To to Crait.
Or it's just a force vision just like Luke in the Dark Tree on Dagobah.......
It's almost gotta be the vision thing, though.... The whole Dark Rey thing isn't something you'd drop in a trailer this far out is it?
That’s what I’m thinking. It’s definitely not a finished product. I mean even Kylo’s cape isn’t “cgied” in yet in the clip where he’s fighting Rey on the deathstar ruins.
That said I would love to see a dark Rey.
Regardless of how TROS goes I’m still excited for the mandalorian, the kenobi series and more clone wars.

Well, it does make sense for it to come full circle with a reintroduction of clones (if that’s what they do in the finale). Many of the new characters lack the depth that the original movies have, so while it might be lazy to bring back some of the originals, it might make for a better movie just because the original characters were more charismatic.Ugh I can’t believe they’re bringing the Emperor back it kinda cheapens the end ROTJ now and Vader’s sacrifice to kill him and save Luke and redeem himself. It just seems a desperate move by JJ and Disney to win back the fans after TLJ. And I actually enjoyed TLJ because it went in a different direction and surprised me but I guess that was too much to handle for some fans. Force awakens played it wayyyyyyy too safe it was basically a copy and paste of New Hope. I just think Star Wars needs to evolve some and grow if Disney is going to continue to pump out movies. Give the Skywalkers and Death Stars and planet killers a rest cause they’re is so much they could do in the Star Wars universe and so many different stories they could tell. That’s why I’m more excited about The Mandalorian than Rise of Skywalker
I agree no matter what they do they will never top the original classic trilogyWell, it does make sense for it to come full circle with a reintroduction of clones (if that’s what they do in the finale). The postmortem presence of Obi Wan is central to the original trilogy. The idea of a the same with the dark side seems only reasonable.I agree with all of this. I’m ok with some essence of the Emperor looming... maybe a quest to resurrect him for Kylo or something but I hope it isn’t just that he survived.
I too liked TLJ for taking things in a different direction. It wasn’t a perfect movie or anything but I enjoyed it more than TFA.
I don’t think the original characters were particularly “deep”, especially in comparison to the new group. But I agree the original group was more charismatic by far.
