For what it is it is great. No reason to go off the deap end and say it is special.
#13 on AFI Top 100 list, with a sequel that is superior.
#2 highest grossing movie of all time, adjusted for inflation.
Referenced countless times in pop culture, over and over again, more than Star Trek or Lord of the Rings.
Pretty sure its not just great, but special also. May not be Shakespeare, or even the Bible, but it is special.
Dear god, another fan boy
I like the way everyone who proves you wrong is a "fanboy".
I promise you I am no star wars geek. You want to talk movies in general I can talk It all day long. You want to talk sports I can talk sports all day, you want to play sports I played them all at some point or another, want to talk electronics I sold them for 3 years, want to talk history I am very well versed on it, want to talk Bible I majored in it in college.
Star wars is very very low on my list of things I would consider a hobby. You don't have to be a "fanboy" to know that most would agree Star Wars is just better. And you don't have to be a competitive person to know that you sir, have lost this argument.
OE, I'm on the same boat straight to Hell (or TIE fighter apparently) as you are. I don't understand why there's a "proving wrong" movement for something that is personal taste, but Trek has sustained my interest over multiple movies, shows, and characters. It's just something I prefer. I'd rather watch Star Trek's worst movie than Phantom Menace, any day of the week.
