Star Wars vs Star Trek

Anyone who remotely thinks Star Trek is anywhere on the same planet or should I say galaxy (pun intended) is smoking serious rocks

There is a reason why Harrison Ford said he would not want to ever play Han Solo again but would play Indiana Jones in a NY minute.

Lucas got lucky.

The story was just good enough to match the special effects and it was a visualize fantasy for kids.

Lucas proved how lucky he got with the new 3 episodes.

For what it is it is great. No reason to go off the deap end and say it is special.

#13 on AFI Top 100 list, with a sequel that is superior.

#2 highest grossing movie of all time, adjusted for inflation.

Referenced countless times in pop culture, over and over again, more than Star Trek or Lord of the Rings.

Pretty sure its not just great, but special also. May not be Shakespeare, or even the Bible, but it is special.

I like the way everyone who proves you wrong is a "fanboy".

I promise you I am no star wars geek. You want to talk movies in general I can talk It all day long. You want to talk sports I can talk sports all day, you want to play sports I played them all at some point or another, want to talk electronics I sold them for 3 years, want to talk history I am very well versed on it, want to talk Bible I majored in it in college.

Star wars is very very low on my list of things I would consider a hobby. You don't have to be a "fanboy" to know that most would agree Star Wars is just better. And you don't have to be a competitive person to know that you sir, have lost this argument.

Some people just dont get it and that is when it is fun.

The Bible, that would actually be one I could be serious on.

Go to the politics forum, Ill set you straight.

:)

First topic, Judas was not evil/ bad guy but a scape goat of the councils of Nicaea

OE, I'm on the same boat straight to Hell (or TIE fighter apparently) as you are. I don't understand why there's a "proving wrong" movement for something that is personal taste, but Trek has sustained my interest over multiple movies, shows, and characters. It's just something I prefer. I'd rather watch Star Trek's worst movie than Phantom Menace, any day of the week.
