Starting oline in 2025.

You are exactly right. Year five, no excuses; especially with the Portal. You can retool half your team every year if necessary.

I mean your point isn’t wrong but the retooling part via the portal at least on the Oline is tough. You can add a piece or two but an everyone is looking for olinemen; tackles especially you’re going to pay heavy.

Man we need more depth. Please Huepal and team have some guys in the works we don’t know about.

Have you examined the number of young OL on our roster. And the small number that entered the portal after post season meetings with the staff. Doubt they pulled punches with that many on roster.

Love to have some solid inside info, but hard for me to believe we are going to whiff on enough to not have some depth. Not a bunch of requiring additional weight either. They make up a large portion of those 54 or so Fr and So. I kind of like the last 2 classes. No need for more walkons.

So I’d say slightly better if Heard improves like most young OL improve. If Perry could be good enough at OG to force Karic into a backup role then it could be noticeably better.

And not just oline. We often see our rivals starting or giving a lot of playing time to true freshman at several positions.
It just seems that we are extremely reluctant to do so.

I'm actually not. In fact my expectations for this year were met: 10 regular season wins, W against FL, and a W against AL. That being said, after watching the entire season play out I see some troubling things for next year: CJH's offense is going in the wrong direction, and are his recruits being developed at a high enough level? My expectations moving forward is to play for and win the sec and national championship. I hope more fans have my expectations than yours.
