Stephen Garcia has been suspended indefinitely

Every QB has WTF moments. Ainge didn't have the benefit of a RS year and through 3 seasons they were similar in efficiency (if you take out his sophomore year, though Ainge gets the edge) but Ainge had a spectacular senior year, which GARCIA will not have so you can't really compare them.

I am not saying that Garcia and Ainge are identical. I am saying that our situation with Garcia is similar to UT's with Ainge. Ainge could be a great QB when he wanted to be, but he would also do stuff that made you scratch your head. Garcia is the same way. Admittedly, Garcia has more than Ainge had.

That being said, I think Garcia has more raw potential than Ainge. He just never maximized it.

I had high hopes for him, and hoped he would mature. As we all know, he has yet to do so, and likely never will in his remaining days at SC.

Meh, everyone else is back, and their back-up may end up being better.

He will be back on the team and playing. USC may have their best chance to win an SEC title. Don't think for one minute they wont bring him back.

If he's not allowed back on the team, it helps South Carolina's chances, not hurt them. He's never been any good. The Steve Spurrier of 15 years ago wouldn't have wasted an hour on him. He would have either transferred or become a linebacker.

Garcia is the SEC's version of Reggie Ball, who stunk it up at Georgia Tech for four years a few years back. Ball was lousy, but every so often he would make some spectacular play and make the highlight reels, and keep his job. But Georgia Tech would lose five games a year because Ball was a rockhead. Garcia is the same way.

i read somewhere else saying they had some kind of meeting/class and he was talking and being rude to whoever it was giving it.

But Conner Shaw looked like crap last year and i dont' see him being any better this year. I shot SC all last year and the bowl game and i haven't seen anything that says otherwise

Just wanted to know from the VolNation what they think about the Garcia suspension and how that might open up the SEC East.

I think most people picked USC(E) to repeat as SEC East title this year, but without Garcia is that now possible?

If not USC(E) than who? UGA? FLA? UT?

South Carolina suspends QB Stephen Garcia indefinitely - ESPN

The only reason USCjr won the east is because the rest of the east was down as a whole, Garcia didn't have a thing to do with it. If anything Lattimore carried you guys. This year the rest of the east should be significantly better while USCjr would still just be mediocre even with Garcia.

I think you maybe short-changing us a bit. Also, please tell me how you expect the east to be significantly better.

It won't be, but I don't think SC is a shoo-in this year. It'll be wide open like last season, I feel, and the team that wins the east won't be very impressive conference record-wise.

I don't think we are a lock by any means. Heck, I think UT has just as good a shot as SC.

Tennessee, Georgia, & Florida all will be better. I know how gamecock fans are about every year being their year & god helps us that every team in the division was awful & a mediocre sc team was able to win the east. We will never hear the end of it now. Without lattimore & Jeffrey USCjr is comparible to vandy on a bad year. The defense is always a question because from game to game you don't know if a guy is gonna run for 300yds or have a guy pass for 400 yds. Yet their D is always strong. I don't get it.

South Carolina has some legitimate talent for the first time in basically ever. You even pointed out part of it yourself. Them winning the east wasn't as ridiculous as you're making it out to be. They could win it again this year.

You didn't answer my question, you simply repeated yourself, which leads me to believe that you don't have a clue, and makes me question whether or not you even follow college football.
