Stephen Garcia has been suspended indefinitely

You didn't answer my question, you simply repeated yourself, which leads me to believe that you don't have a clue, and makes me question whether or not you even follow college football.

I did answer your question. The east will be significantly better because the top 3 teams will be significantly better. How often do you see UT, UGA, & fla down in the same year? I never have. Funny a USCjr guy questions football knowledge.

Florida will be bumpy. New coaching staff.

Georgia is Georgia. They lost their premier offensive threat.

We still have question marks. Obviously.

I see no "significantly better" teams. Also, none will be that much better than any of the others. It's a perfect tossup.

Guys returning from injuries. Recruiting. Countless young guys that have a year of experience. For tennesse we don't have a first year coach now. UGA don't have a brand new defense. Florida has talent as usual & might run a real offense with a great offensive mind. USC is USC.

There will not be significant improvements. But, we will see.

That we know of...any team in the East could show up on fire and not only sweep the division but the conference...could be a Muschamp energized and talented Florida, a SCe with new found confidence, a hungry Georgia team, or a young and exciting Vols squad...beauty of the SEC baby!

Which is basically my point.

South Carolina has some legitimate talent for the first time in basically ever. You even pointed out part of it yourself. Them winning the east wasn't as ridiculous as you're making it out to be. They could win it again this year.

They could, but they won't if anyone else steps it up this season. South Carolina is still the kind of team which can beat Alabama one week and lose to Vanderbilt the next. They're not going to win the East unless everyone else is down again.

Garcia will be back if they don't think that Shaw is good enough. I just think that if they really need him they will let him back on the team.

That's on him. You only get so many chances.

And to whoever was saying it seems like he's been there for forever, I agree. I think that it's because his recruitment was followed so closely and he and Spurrier's inability to get along has always been in the news. It's hilarious, really.

And who can ever forget the safety out of the endzone against Bama this past year? I laughed so hard.

I just imagine him showing up to practice incredibly drunk, bumping that stupid "sandstorm" song they always play at Cocks' games, then stumbling onto the field before falling at Spurrier's feet.

The safety thing was actually a semi-intelligent play. Give up 2 as opposed to 6.

Right, I get that, it's just one of those things that only happens to Stephen Garcia. And the producers, knowing they were going to strike gold, instantly showed Spurrier on the sideline.

Haha, I won't lie, I laughed at the whole SG falling drunk at Spurrier's feet thing. That kid has the worst luck, sometimes because of the decisions he makes.

Somewhere on the Charleston Post and Courier website is a timeline showing SG's journey from Freshman to Senior. I imagine it's an entertaining read.

It seems like he's been there forever because he has & always in the news for doing the same childish crap. How long was he at USC before he was keying cars & getting drunk? It's been the same kind of thing all the time with him. Most guys would have already been gone & it's not like Garcia is an allstar so I don't see why he's not.

Someone over on CT claiming to be in the know is saying the MC of the event made a very unprofessional comment in front of everybody during the event. The comment was something along the lines of comparing how SG is a bad person to how Tim Tebow is a good person.

Not saying I believe any of this, but it would help explain why the players were so quick to defend him.

Sometimes the truth hurts. Might be 1 reason he's a drunk.

Truth or not, it is a pretty sorry thing to say in front of a group of people, especially if said person is there. But, that's assuming it was said.

Maybe he shouldn't be a sorry person and no one could make fun of him...

His decisions are unfortunate. Most unfortunate is the level of SC tolerance. There is a legitimate reason you seldom hear about players getting a 6th chance, they're long gone.

Mentally tough teams make tough decisions and eventually get over the hump. Championship teams are filled with great leaders and no position reflects that more or can reflect that less than QB.

I'm a lot more surprised that in the past Spurrier has behaved like he had no choice, then surprised this QB now needs a 6th chance.

Or he could have just fallen on it and given up 0 as opposed to 2.

It was among the most bewildering plays I've seen, just because Garcia looked like he planned that. No hesitation, just fumble it out of the endzone purposely. Game set match, Bama!

True enough, but he made a safe play. Thankfully, it didn't cost us.

I thought Bama was going to whip out arse in the second half after that play.
