I feel cheated. I was wanting to beat his azz for a 3rd straight year. Even in retirement, he gets the last laugh on Tennessee...arhh

I've always liked Spurrier--one of the all-time great college coaches and an entertaining guy. He was a lot more candid than most coaches. He certainly kicked our butts many times--starting when he was at Duke. He did a great job as South Carolina.

I always liked him too...couldn't help it - so funny and entertaining, as you said. That Nissan Heisman commercial he just did was freaking hilarious!

SC will take a major step back imo SOS was a top 5 coach in college football. There aren't many of those guys out there and 99.9% of them wouldn't coach at SC. They will have to take a risk on a young up and comer. A guy like Butch Davis or Greg Schiano isn't going to have the same impact as a Steve Spurrier and you never know what you are going to get from a relatively unproven young coach. Other higher profile schools will be looking for a new coach including USC, and possibly Texas or Arkansas.

Internal pressure has probably been high for a while. I know the fans were calling for it earlier, even before the UK game.

Justin Fuente has to be one of the first guys that gets a call. His game against ole miss this weekend could be a good audition for him.

Does he own a motorcycle?

The last SEC coach that quit this suddenly and mysteriously was Bobby Petrino.
