I'm going to do it. Long before we even play a game, this is how I think 2022 shakes out.

I think USCe kicks us as we usually go back and forth season by season. They have a bevy of big boy edge rushers. I think their general size will wear us down that late in the season after giving the Tide and Dawgs our best efforts. So it will be a trap game and USCe takes advantage. Plus, I think Beamer is a legit coach. Our relatively young secondary is going to give us fits all season, but the boys certainly try. Oh, the Kentucky game is going to be bloody, they hate us with the same passion we hate Bama, and they will play like it.
Jesus another dumb post.

There may be more closely contested games this year than we expect.
Don’t be surprised when our offensive, quick-pace strategy becomes slowed down considerably with lots of defensive fake injuries and we possibly lose our advantage to some degree.
Until the SEC addresses this, as we saw last year, we’re going to continue to see 5 hour games due to the fakes.

Why? I mean we ranked #9 last year. Do you really see us getting into the top 5??? I just think we caught the SEC by surprise a little. And we lost Velus and Payton. We might be able to replace them but it’s gonna be tough. I just don’t see us averaging more than 40 a game like last year.

The SEC isn’t going to do anything about the flopping.

Second year in the system. Continuity within the offense. Expanded playbook.
Bru McCoy is your Velus replacement. I don't think Payton will be that difficult to replace when you have Hyatt, Calloway, Holiday, Merrill, Squirrel, Keyton, Webb, Nimrod etc. Then you have Tillman back, your best WR. All the tight ends are back. All the RB's plus Justin Williams-Thomas. Offensive line is a question mark, but we still bring back a lot at least. Most importantly Hendon Hooker.

I can easily see us average over 40 with Ball State, Akron, UT Martin, Vandy and Mizzou on the schedule. We could see up to 60 against them.

I don't gamble but if I did... I'd try to take your money. UT wasn't catching late season opponents by surprise. The Vols increased their scoring average in each successive month. Jones leaves a hole but unlike last year there are a bunch of guys with a base of knowledge and experience to step in. Apparently HH has "taken another step". RB's return.

I'm anxious to see if they can get improvement on D. IMO that's where the season hinges. FWIW, I don't think there's a chance on earth that USCe or UK hold UT's O to that few points this year. I don't know if the D will be able to hold anyone... but I'm pretty confident that the Vols will score lots of points and especially against opponents not named Bama or UGA.

I'm not smart enough to make full schedule predictions, especially this early so I'm not weighing in on a game-by-game "guess list". What I do know is that EVERY school on our schedule this year has watched what Kiffin pulled and learned from it.
That kind of BS will absolutely be used again (as needed) by every opponent without repercussions. I trust Coach Heupel has planned accordingly.

I’m guessing he meant W seeing how the score he listed has Us winning

Got me! I meant losing, but obviously, I have an inherent bias for our Vols. If I have time before the wife awakens, I will adjust that.
Hastily adjusted the USCe score. BOT, much as I eternally hate it, we could lose to KY. They aren't the pansies they used to be. They lost last year only because we gambled on an all-out blitzkrieg, and it worked. This year, like us, they have questions in their secondary, but the rest of the defense it legit. Plus, they have that freaking human tank (Chris Rodriguez) at RB. Our boys had a hard time dragging him to the ground last year, and he's back. We could lose, but I think it will be a hard hitting, emotional bloodbath loaded with penalties. KY will come to win, still seething from last year's at home Will Smith slap. Tennessee will be just as determined to slap them again. I aim to watch this game because I think it's going to be dramatic and the SEC game of the year. It's going to be The Thriller in Manila with the Gorilla.

I hope you are close and appreciate your courage to step out there on the record. I on the other hand with my prognosticative skills recently being graphically displayed with my March Madness brackets will refrain. I am only sorry that those Vols from the glass 9/10's empty school will feel compelled to use their free speech rights in response.

Thank you. If I miss badly, I hope it's on the positive side, like we go 12-0. But if it is the negative side, well, maybe next year. But you know about those other creatures, humans gonna human. I'm having too much fun to be bothered more than 3-5 minutes by them. Then it's off to new adventures.

So brave.

Not really, just enjoying myself despite everything else. As for genuine bravery:
“Bravery is the audacity to be unhindered by failures, and to walk with freedom,
strength, and hope, in the face of the things unknown.”

With both Florida and LSU being smoking messes right now I can see 10 wins; however, in dealing with reality I can see as few as 8.

You really think USCe is going to hold us to more than half the points that AL holds us to? We stand a much better chance of losing to KY than USCe. That FL game is true head scratcher. On paper we should have destroyed them last year. On paper, we should destroy them this year.
The real question this year is, " Does Hooker stay healthy all season?" That's the hinge our entire season turns on.

I gots my opinion, youse gots yo opinion, together we make a fine pincushion. Pricka -pricka-boom-boom!
Couldn't resist needling you, but seriously, we don't know what's going to happen, despite what I or you believe.
It's fun talking about it nevertheless.

You think it will be better than last year? I don’t.
Why wouldn't it be? Payton made big plays but he was streaky. Jones will be missed. But that's pretty much all UT loses. Mays missed as much time as he played. The Vols should be deeper and better at every position. Indications are they are expanding the playbook as well.

Golech confirmed something I've speculated a few times here over the last several months. They made a decision a few games into last season to focus on getting Hooker, Payton, Jones, and Tillman on the same page. After that, they worked to get contributions from Hyatt and others. Give them an absolute ton of credit for recognizing the problem of trying to get too many guys ready and putting a short term patch on it. Going forward he indicated that they expect to play a lot more guys at WR. If there is a position of concern on O then it would be experience at WR... but there is now more time, more knowledge, and still a ton of talent to work with.

Inverted order of win likelihood in my opinion:

Bama
UGA
LSU
UK/UF
Pitt
USCe
MU
Ball State
Vandy
Akron
UT- Martin

I think UT has even or better chances in every game except the top 2. Remember, UT came within a few bad calls and mistakes of winning 9 or 10 games last year with a thinner D and a less developed program.
