A 20 point loss to SC that late in the season? Looks like you have us getting worse as the season goes. Putting too much stock into Spencer
I would bet he isn't even the qb for them by that time in the season unless injuries happen
He will alienate his team before halloween

Until I see a VERY big improvement in D, especially DB’s,
I’ll just wait and hope for the best.

Zero way in hell this team beats Florida then gets blown out by Carolina unless Hooker goes down to an injury.
Yes, because we've never beaten Florida...and then lost to Vandy 😏

There's no transitive property in sports.

Besides, USCjr could be as good as Florida this year. Or "Florida as bad" as USCjr.

I mostly don't get predicting we allow 33 ppg. That would be a historically bad defense and a big drop from last year. We already improved nationally last year over Pruitt's last defense...significantly. One would hope it continues to improve or at least hold serve.

DC is probably fired if our defense is that bad.

I'm going to do it. Long before we even play a game, this is how I think 2022 shakes out.

I think USCe kicks us as we usually go back and forth season by season. They have a bevy of big boy edge rushers. I think their general size will wear us down that late in the season after giving the Tide and Dawgs our best efforts. So it will be a trap game and USCe takes advantage. Plus, I think Beamer is a legit coach. Our relatively young secondary is going to give us fits all season, but the boys certainly try. Oh, the Kentucky game is going to be bloody, they hate us with the same passion we hate Bama, and they will play like it.
You’re catching a lot of flak for your SC prediction but, stepping back, 9-3 would be a great year. People are overlooking Pitt and really shouldn’t be. Our road schedule is tough. At Pitt, at LSU, at UGA, at SC, and at Vandy. Pitt will probably be top 15, UGA top 5, LSU will be much better, and SC was a bowl team last year while significantly upgrading their QB. Florida, Bama, and UK aren’t easy either. The way I see it, we’re likely going to lose to Bama and UGA. We should beat Ball St, UTM, Akron, Mizzou, SC, and Vandy. So that’s 6-2 which leaves Pitt, Florida, LSU, and UK as our swing games. We will beat UK and I seriously don’t think beating 2 out of the other 3 is unreasonable at all. So I like your overall record. I’d guess our loss comes from LSU though. That team has plenty of talent and a much better coach now. Normally I’d say Florida is a loss but I think we will break that tendency this year.

USCjr. cornholed Florida last year, we cornholed USCjr. and Florida cornholed us. It was a circle of nonsensical derp.

Pitt is not going to be top 15 without that QB.

Can't outright say I disagree with you, as I had almost the exact same thoughts. But... decided to go the route I did because it sort of looked and smelled right. If we get some quality defense personnel transfers, real quality, I could see us surprising Bama. Something I'd love to see, and well... I do believe in miracles.

Thank you. If I miss badly, I hope it's on the positive side, like we go 12-0. But if it is the negative side, well, maybe next year. But you know about those other creatures, humans gonna human. I'm having too much fun to be bothered more than 3-5 minutes by them. Then it's off to new adventures.

Part of my problem is I am a bit "stupidsticious" that if I predict good things then the opposite will happen. I am hopeful that we will continue to trend up as both sides of the ball should be better in their second year. If our stackup of injuries, like at DB right now, hit us badly it can change our fortunes. I will get a little more confident if we score some high priorities in the portal over the summer. I am for sure confused about how many open counter slots we will have when the spring dust clears, how many of the 7 potential compensatory transfer slots we will earn. how many we will be able to use and how many of those high quality PWO's are expecting shots at schollies this fall. I would love to have a hidden camera focused on the war room wall to get a clue of the REAL staff evaluations.

9-3 is the absolute floor this season. I think we push the defending national champs to the limit and possibly make kirby’s brain explode with the abuse we deal his defense.

How in the hell did you remember this post and pull it back from so long ago…. impressive !
And the post itself is unbelievably spot on.
And a lot of the posts that follow it are impressive too- especially those talking about our D was going to be deadly bad.
Excellent work all around - thanks for reposting this- what a pick!
