Still Cant Get Respect

I think it was a little of both. They somewhat helped give it away and we did our part and took it away.

If ATH wants to say they gave it away, then on the same note we gave away the first half so I don't see the difference.

Bottom line is that our defense dominated the second half and we had a leader inserted at qb in the third quarter.

If I had to pick them giving it away or us taking it away, I would have to say we earned it.

We also gave some stuff away in the first half. The way I see it, it all evens out and the best team won.

I saw no proof that LSU "gave it away." What I saw was the Tennessee defense continue to make big plays, take away the run and stop LSU on 3rd down. The Tennessee offense came together as a team and stopped making stupid mistakes.

In the first half, 14 points were off of Tennessee turnovers. The other score was on a 4-play drive with a couple of big plays. Tennessee just did not allow the big plays for LSU in the 2nd half. LSU has not proven that they can put together a sustained drive, and that is what got them beat. LSU did not have a sustained drive in the 1st half nor the 2nd half.

Offensively for Tennessee, the difference was not the difference in play by the LSU defense but the elimination of dropped passes, penalties and boneheaded turnovers. Why... because the team's leader, Rick Clausen, entered the game and the offense started playing like a team instead of a collection of individuals. I saw nothing that indicated LSU's defense played any differently in the 2nd half from the first.... just that Tennessee's offense played much better.

The way I look at the game was how badly could Tennessee have beaten LSU had Clausen played the entire game?

We certainly could have relaxed a bit more, that's for sure.

Amen to that,I as well had said what if Clausen had been in the whole game.We probably would'nt have needed the over time.
