Stoerner tweet

Interesting that we haven't won in over five years and some of you knuckleheads only have memories of 98 to hold on to by focusing on a fumble. You guys can't even focus on the future of this program because you're lost in 98. Its sad really. Lets make fun of a Guy who fumbled in 98 because we can't get to a bowl game. Some Vol fans have become petty.

hungover?

I know, but why include Fulmer in a tweet when your going to write that?

Probably to let Fulmer enjoy him ripping some moronic low class fan. Don't know this for a fact, but Fulmer may have offered a scholly to Stoerner or at least spoke with him during his recruitment. Just because a person doesn't go to a certain school doesn't mean they don't have respect for that coach or university. I say well played Mr. Stoerner. Well played.

That was a truly great Syracuse team, especially on offense. The Carrier Dome had a humidity factor at work that caused a lot of teams, even Spurrier's Gators, problems with fatigue.

McNabb and the Orangemen went to the Big House and spanked Meeechigan the next week. CBJ needs to share that info with Derrick Green as well.

funny how everybody is dogging stoerner for being classless but gives the internet tough guy who probably works at Jamba Juice a pass for starting the ish talking.

Everyone knows the internet tough guy is classless, but I think everyone expects Stoerner to take the highroad. It has been 14 years I would think Stoerner would have learned to look the other way when some clown pokes fun at him.

What I wouldn't give to have seen Ole Phil reply "Don't get your panties in a bunch, Stoerner, the thank you card is in the mail. I didn't forget this year."

I tend to think the instigator is more classless than the guy who seeks to defend himself. I don't assume that Stoerner is a high character guy just b/c he played college football.

I wonder how long it took Buckner to accept his failures and be a good sport about it.

Anonymous guy on the internet is expected. The proper thing to do is rise above it. Apparently Stoerner is just too petty or insecure to do that.

Plus Stoerner really escalated it with name calling since the other guy really just brought up facts albeit in a disrespectful way.

Calling a random stranger a douche on the internet for referencing a play that happened 14 years ago is not the proper way to defend oneself. For lack of a better word, it's what a douche would do.

Game must be the highlite of Travis Henry's career - that and the day the stadium went quiet when he was injured....[Vandy I think]...

Regardless if he was talking to other guy and not Fulmer, what 35 year old guy writes "douche" in a tweet?

Have you seen what some 35 year old guys write here? Stoerner's tweet is a damn academic treatise compared to some of the posts that come across this board.

Everything I wanted to type either would have gotten me into trouble or wouldn't satisfy me. I just went with generic.

Wanted to say rednecks, or idiots, or inbreds, or something like that...

Racist much?

Yep. If Ratliff doesn't go full throttle against Burlsworth, then the fumble doesn't take place. Tennessee made their own luck.

Arkansas fans constantly whine about that particular play. But they conveniently forget the gift the refs gave them earlier in the quarter when their punter, attempting to retrieve a snap that went over his head, kicked the football at the Arkansas two yard line through the endzone.

The refs gave Tennessee a safety. Tennessee should've had the option to take the ball on the Arkansas two. No doubt our offensive line would've gotten that touchdown and the lead with it.

This x100000000000!!!

People forget completely about that blown call in that game. I just watched the game again on youtube this past week. We were down 24-20 when the botched punt happened. And we SHOULD HAVE had the ball as you describe.

No doubt we would have scored a TD from there and gone ahead 27-24. Would that have guaranteed a win? No, because there were still about 4 minutes on the clock. But I would have hated to look back and see where we possibly lost a NC because of a blown call.

People also forget that we lost about 4 turnovers in that game ourselves!

The thing I remember about Stoerner, other than the fumble, was that Arky beat us the next year in Little Rock (I think) and that loss effectively put us out of the running for a 2nd NC for the 1999 season! I remember Leonard Scott's drop of Tee's perfectly thrown pass when he was 5 yds behind Arky's secondary in that game that could have won it for us. :salute:

Funny thing is that Clint will have to live with that play for the rest of his life. I'm sure it's the one thing that all football fans remember when they hear his name being mentioned.

I remember his horrible playing at Dallas. He was even worse than Romo..

It's very strange that some folks think he gave us a gift. I guess he just tripped all on his own and sat the football on the ground. We should have left the defense on the sideline if we knew that's how it worked.
