My only hope is he aint soft. I'm sick of these big soft men. With a beast frame a gifted athletic ability, I hope he explodes to the rim and just hammers every dunk he gets. I'm excited about this kid!

As much as I'd like to see a bruiser, I'm excited about his jump shot.

Actually, the precedent was Kansas State's Bill Walker. He was denied his prep school eligibility his final year and enrolled there mid-term. He made a solid impact, but messed his knee up and ended up redshirting the rest of the year. I believe the following year he teamed with Michael Beasley. Guys like Dawkins (Duke) and Wilbekin (Florida) completely skipped their senior year all together and enrolled in the fall.

Off the top of my head the only one that i can think of recently is the dawkins kid from duke. he i believe is a sophmore this year, last year is when he came in early. he was a solid contributor right away and played quite a bit in the ncaa tourney for them. it's a bit different his game being primarily a shooter but his scenario was the same as stokes.

Long time listener, first time poster! This was great.

But so was

Stokes will be 8'5, 435 lbs. by the end of the season. Book it.

You guys crack me up. But, I'd be surprised if Stokes didn't see the floor at least a little Thursday night or if CCM didn't let the guy get some decent minutes off the bench against UK. We're going to be heavy underdogs in both games and as a fan base we shouldn't be surprised to be 0-2 Saturday night. So what's there to lose?

My son spoke with the S&C coach and was told Stokes won't play until the GA game. Needs to lose 15 lbs. Can do that in no time. :eek:hmy:

unfortunately this is probably pretty accurate. i am really hoping something changes between now and then but i am thinking if we dont see a little from him tomorrow night ccm may be hesitant to put him out there against UK in his first action. May be best to make sure he is 100% ready and put him out there against a team that we should beat in uga.

On Vol Calls tonight, CCM said Stokes wanted to come in tomorrow morning at 6:00 AM to watch film. CCM said he told him to get some rest and come in after student orientation tomorrow. This guy is the Peyton Manning of basketball. Apparently eat, lives, sleeps basketball and will outwork everyone.

Slow your roll.
