Pelphrey tells him that he is confident that Stokes is Florida bound and is wearing orange and Memphis garb to throw everyone off so his announcement will be a surprise to everyone. I certainly hope this isn't true as we very much need Stokes in our basketball program.

For all the posters talking about the time, why does the time of the announcement matter? I've seen some people say its halftime of the memphis away game and stuff like that, but seriously WHY DOES THAT MATTER?

Obviously that would be a dramatic moment to announce he's going to Memphis or Florida, at the half of their games, lol. You can imagine if you're watching a Memphis game, it's halftime, nothing to talk about, then they get wind that Stokes just committed. They would spend the rest of the halftime show talking about how he is going to impact their team.

I still don't think it means anything, but I'm not 100% sold on him coming to UT. I just don't believe anything, and I'll reserve judgement until I see his commitment.

The rationale behind the time is a recruit would want the fan base of the school he is choosing to be able to follow the announcement. It is more than likely over analyzed but it helps pass the time waiting.

If I was going to school at either UF or Memphis, I'd for sure want it to be announced during halftime, especially when your playing two big time programs (FSU sucks but a rival to Florida and GTown is GTown)

Some felt that Forbes and Selby's mother really had a great connection. However, I think Kansas was in the lead all along, with Tennessee was a close second after his original decommit.
