Stokes to take an official to Tennessee

You know our Basketball program is down when the majority assumes this is about the free football pass.

It might just indicate that the guy would greatly enjoy a few free meals and sideline tickets to UT-UGA. I'd do the same if I were him. He is probably beyond a longshot to wear orange.

Do not forget to see his sibling and watch his best friend (Clear) play this weekend.

Stokes really, really likes being recruited and at the end of the day three coaching staffs are going to feel like they really, really got played because everyone involved thinks they have a chance.

For a lot of reasons, it would be a huge surprise if Stokes ends up at UT.

Great news!! Who knows? Maybe a trip to a packed Neyland stadium to see us play one of our rivals convinces him to come to UT. Plus, we don't know how well Martin can get in these kids heads. I'm excited he's coming and would love to see him in orange!!!

This kid has been to 3 high schools Central, Southwind, and Oak Hill Academy (and attended 2) in the past 6 months. He's a huge talent, but seems like he has a little Bryce Brown in him.

The only reason that happend was because he didn't have enough cash to get into Oak Hill and when he came back he had to enroll at Southwind. It has nothing to do with attention, this kid has a good head on his shoulders.

Oak Hill gives full scholarships. The cost issue was made up.

He had the option to re-enroll at Central and not lose a second of eligibility. Any senior trying that hard to shed the school he has been playing at for 3 years raises some eyebrows.

He claims it is an economic hardship to go to Central, but not even the review board bought that, which is why it was denied.

I don't know the situation, but whenever these top athletes are running away from their own schools like they are on fire, I wonder what's really going on.

This would be a signature get for coach Martin, but like most, we probably will come up on the short end here. We really need to get at least one big name in this class to give more credibility to the coaching staff. Stokes would be perfect being in state. They're really working as hard, maybe harder, on 2013 as 2012 since they came in behind the 8 ball this year. How well we do this season, will go a long way in determining how good our 2013 class will be.

TSSAA Presidant said he wouldn't play ball this year because he wouldn't be eligeble anywhere.

We can go 3 and 20 as long as two of those teams are Duke and those bluegrass crybabies :D

He'll look great in Memphis blue. Feed him something good this weekend, he's a growing boy.

yep. If he wants real BBQ though- no need to visit Bruce when he lives in the BBQ Capital of the World. Will be interesting to see where his recruitment stands after 18,000 go crazy for him next Friday night at FEF.

I don't think anyone is expecting him to come to UT. I don't see this visit changing anything. It's a Memphis-Arkansas battle for him.

He'll look horrible in that ugly blue. It sure doesn't help you have all that young talent either. I think Arkansas will get him.

He wants out of Memphis. It will be UT or Arkansas for this kid.

Really? What led you to that belief? The fact that he was a week from going to Oak Hill in NC; then changed his mind and decided to stay in Memphis for his senior year? Sounds exactly like someone who wants out of Memphis.

That's even worse for UT, isn't it? Losing an in-state kid to an out of state rival. You lose to Memphis and it's a pride thing, you lose to Arky and it counts as a conference loss.

In state/out of state has no meaning when you are talking about 3 hrs away and the same demographics/landscape out of state vs 6 hrs away, different demo's and different scene in state.
