Stop blaming the refs seriously. (Please don't merge)

thought pass interference call was terrible, but really that was it.

Agree, and the call on the coach yelling was pretty tacky imo. UGA took a few bad calls as well. The kid stomping and drawing a Defensive False start even though a perfectly legal call.....is a call you never see and it cost us a punt. Other than that, I thought the game was called fairly even. I think both teams probably could of got some holding calls but it wasn't getting called that game.

take off the orange glasses and watch it again. it was clearly coming out before the goal line and all the way out at the line.

I don't blame the refs at all. Contrary to what the OP said, they missed calls all game long, both ways. People just focus on the ones at the end.

We had our chances to win and didn't, can't blame that on anyone else.

As to the fumble, it may have been coming out, but I've watched it a 100 times, and I certainly wouldn't stake my life definitively one way or the other. If I had to bet, I'd say he lost possession before he broke the plain, but no one can say for certain when it came out. To say it was "clearly" coming out is ridiculous. No one on planet earth knows for sure the instant he lost possession, not Pig, not the refs, certainly not your or I.

The conclusive evidence he lost the ball before it hit the goal line...I just don't see it. Yes he was losing control but I did not see conclusive evidence of such.

I didn't see conclusive evidence either. I did see the ref that called the TD on the field was standing right there at the goal line. He had a great view. He called it a TD on the field and Pigs fingers were still touching the ball when it hit the goal line. Bad call IMO. Should have been a TD and more than likely would have been a win.

The refs made all the right calls, Don't blame Pig either he tried to win the game. Good game UGA and Thanks for giving your all for Tennessee Today Pig.

Definitely not blaming the refs or pig. Pig was giving his all and trying to make a play. But will say 2I of the pass interference calls, one on Sutton in particular that even Coach Jones referenced on his show without actually saying it was a really bad call. But not saying that lost us the game because it didnt. I was proud of the heart our guys showed and fully expect to beat USCe.

I've watched the playbacks and they don't show the play where he took the helmet off. Anyone have a link?

Look the refs did not directly cost the Vols the game. BUT almost every big call went Georgia's way. See end of Texas v. IS, Stanford v. Washington, and fill in the blank. When the games on the line the big favorite gets the benefit of the doubt. Back a million years ago when I played baseball they called it the Ted Williams effect. Meaning that if Ted took a 3-2 pitch on the corner it was ball 4! We got those calls in the 90's! Remember the 4th down PI at the end of the Syracuse game in 98? You got to knock the champion OUT! You ain't gonna win on points. Lets get USCe and make the first big step towards getting back on Ted's side! GBO

I thought we might have gotten away with a few as well. The one that sticks out is the "almost" punt block by Greg King. He ran into the punter(IMO), and the punter actually fell after contact. But we didn't get flagged.

Agree w/ GAVol, it usually evens out.

Just because his fingertips were touching it does not mean he had possession....It sucks, it sucks bad, but it was the right call.

You think Pig can't hold a football with his fingertips? Looked like he had control for as long as he needed to have control.
