Stop the soft zone BS.

We got no pressure all night. We were hell bent on stopping the run, KY was hell bent on stopping the pass rush. Did the refs blow a few calls? absolutely. Either way, this DL has got to bring it week in and week out.

Great game plan by UK and a bad day for the Vols. It happens to even the best teams. Was there bad calls? Yes. But YET AGAIN, it wasn’t the main reason we couldn’t get a good pass rush.

If it wasn’t the MAIN reason, it was damn sure the 2nd main reason.

We stopped the run and forced Leary to beat us. He had his best game as a cat and we still won.
Maybe some folks missed this one. I'll bump it here. The whining and complaining needs to come to a close. We are 6-2 folks. Everything is still in place to compete for the Eastern Division title. The team could use some positive energy. GoVols

Also remember that Kentucky had an open week before this game. I think this had them put in some new wrinkles. Hopefully we can work out secondary issues against Conn as Missouri is going to be flinging the ball all over the park.

Kentucky has a good O line, pass rush was tough going but the bigger problem was the softer zone coverages in the secondary. Plus he had a great night throwing when coverage was good. I think banks decided to make them go the distance and then tighten up inside the 20’s. GBO

The staff understands our secondary problems, especially without Hadden (can’t believe I’m saying that). Banks was going to stop the run and make UK beat us throwing the ball. Until yesterday, that was a solid game plan. Leary had a career night on us.

Wanting Banks fired is absolutely not a solution. I think an elite DB coach who can recruit and coach is where you start. Banks has done a good job given what he started with. Personally, I love his aggressive nature, and I think it fits well with Heupel’s offensive style. We also have a very good bend don’t break defense. It’s not ideal, but we have done a good job this year stuffing the run game. We have made big strides on defense over the last three years (Banks I believe was learning the job on the fly), and we are going to have to live with the bend don’t break zone defenses until we get better secondary players (and a better DB coach), IMO.

Our corners are bad. Not sure if it’s talent or teaching but they don’t look back at the ball at all. Just run with the WR like is a race. Gotta play the ball better.

We let Devin Leary carve us up like a Thanksgiving turkey. Imagine what UGA is gonna do with an actual Heisman level QB?
We will use a different strategy vs the curs. Uga QB "Heisman level"? Lol. Need to pump the brakes a bit on that one. Blue chip? Yes. Playing well recently? Sure. Nowhere near a Heisman contender though.

And anyway, we have two games before we play uga....
