Stormy Daniels sues Trump

Hmmmm... so what about attorney client privilege here? At the time Trump was indeed Cohen’s client. What is the argument you just ignore privilege here?

Also in reading the article it’s a huge meh. Worst case the Trump campaign pays a fine and moves on.

The libs moral outrage is duly noted and properly ignor... Er dealt with though.

Must be seeking or receiving legal advice for privilege to apply. So, if they were just discussing what should be done from a prudential or political perspective, not privileged, but if they were discussing whether such a payout would violate campaign finance laws, then privileged.

Trump has also forced the far right to stop pretending that morals are important. Evangelicals were not this forgiving of Bill Clinton's tryst with the intern (or his lies over it).

Trump won because middle America was tired off all the DC BS, no one who’s an outsider could have come in and disrupted the Swamp stupidity...it’s a cesspool, unfortunately Oprah, Bernie, HRC career Swamp rats ain’t gonna fix it.

Trump is not an moral figure, but he’s getting it done.
He’s very smart, and stupid at times...more than anything he won’t quit ever. He’s fighting for America, that’s what important, and he ain’t gonna make everyone happy much less the liberal media elite that control the narrative.

For the most part, I think middle America is pretty happy with Trump, but many don’t agree with his rhetoric ( which doesn’t effect anyone in their personal everyday lives)

Not a Trump fan, but at the same time I care about any and all porn stars and models Trump has gone through the same amount I care about Bill Clinton's escapades....which is to say none at all. This stuff is between him and his wife. If he wants to do all that then so be it.

The hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle is funny though.

So that really doesn’t pass the sniff test does it. If the discussion is related to a legal matter, even just civil business stuff, privilege should apply I was understanding. Also I thought privilege would only not apply for items related to criminal behavior. At the time of this discussion none of this would have applied it seems.

Regardless Avenatti hadn’t had his or Stormy’s name in the news in a couple of weeks so I guess they needed something.

To quote one of your favorite standard replies you’re setting yourself up for a bad case of blueball here. Worst case it’s a campaign finance fine. We’ve got recent precedence from Barry Hussein to thank for that.

A federal judge ruled that attorney-client privilege did not exist between Trump and Cohan and appointed a special master to go through the documents, cell phones, computers and as we see now videos to determine if any of them fell under attorney-client privilege.

Special master Barbara Jones said "She said the eight boxes had 639 items totaling 12,543 pages, and she had approved claims of privilege on 14 items while disapproving three. The electronic devices, she said, had 291,770 total items, with 148 privileged or partly privileged, and another seven protected as “highly personal.”

For the 51351156126133 time, we knew what we were getting with the President, we never thought he was a choir boy.

Like I say, the right claims to have an allegiance to morality and character.
But the value they claim to have placed on morality and character has a price.

It can be traded or bought, like baseball cards or stock options.

You're an angry gator, LG.

If you're not going to bill any hours today, you may as well knock off early and enjoy the afternoon.

Pro tip: don't let Trump ruin your weekend. He'll still be MAGA on Monday

Only in Trump's bizarro upside-down world can an audio recording of Trump discussing a hush payment to a Playboy centerfold during the heat of a presidential campaign be termed "powerful exculpatory evidence."

Really sad what Rudy has become.

This statement proves, once again, that you are not an attorney.......

This line I put in bold is rather ridiculous in light of the swamp creatures Trump brought on board such as Tom Price, Scott Pruitt and Ryan Zinke.

Immoral people tend to hire other immoral people.

If by "getting it done" you mean an increase in the prices of washers, dryers, air conditioners, cars, smartphones, computers, toys, televisions, soybeans, corn, pork beef and higher inflation than yea he's getting it done alright. The bad thing is that the real pain won't hit the economy until the fall.

New York state has a one-party consent law, meaning that as long as one person consents to the recording and is an active participant in the conversation, it's legal to record.

Many states have the same law in place, if not most.

As for attorney-client privilege, an attorney is allowed to break with it if they are cooperating with an official investigation.

Although that doesn't invalidate all of the privilege of his clients when he is working in his capacity as an attorney. Certainly some privilege would be invalidated if he was found to be discussing or conspiring in a criminal act (which may or may not be the case here).

I think more noteworthy is that the special judge has already reviewed these materials and determined them not be privileged. I don't think we know why, yet, the special master found that to be the case. We may not find out what led special master to decide so, it's all speculation up to this point.

Really hope this is sign of shift with the right and you guys finally get off the moral, religious, care-what-everyone-does-in-the-bedroom, crusade against America.

You guys elected a playboy even bigger than Bill Clinton, mad props.

The 1980s called and wants their GOP social policy returned. You're long overdue.

Look, if you ask the vast majority of self identified conservatives and GOP members these days, most will tell you they could give a hootie darn who does what behind closed doors. The pathetic extreme minority are the ones making noise about it, but it gets attributed to everybody right of center in the political spectrum.

Or you can be like every other Democrat and cast a wide (and untrue) net over EVERYONE in the GOP hating:

People of color
Homosexuals
The Poor
Science
Any other religion than Christianity and Judaism.
Women (except to breed and stick around the kitchen)

I'm sure I've left a thing or two out. Please feel free to continue the list if you'd like.
