People are forgetting that all of last year and even during a bit of this season, people were wanting him blown out of Knoxville.

Nothing has changed... There are still a great number of people who want his ass out of Knoxville in a hurry.

He is a disaster of a play caller and has coached on a team that won double digit games only once in his entire career. Can't win with him.

We are seemingly very close to reaching a deal with Strong. We were going to pay Grude 9 mil for him&staff. If we hire Strong,we will get a good recruiter, motivator, and defensive guru And SAVING 5m a year! I think we could be competing for titles in14 if we hire a brilliant OC as coach-in-waiting. We don`t need a panzyazz Oregon offense. That`s fine against NE Ariz Tech, but will NOT beat top-tier SEC teams imo. VOLNATION,PLEASE LIST YOUR TOP 5 OC WE COULD HIRE BELOW. OR JUST 1. I AM ON MOBILE AND CAN`T RESEARCH. PLEASE LIST AT LEAST 1 REASONABLE CANDIDATE BELOW. THANKS! GO VOLS!

You want another guy that has yet to beat a ranked team in 3 years and is only successful due to a cupcake conference? GTFO.

Chaney`s succes THIS YEAR IN A FEW GAMES WERE DUE TO OUR O-LINE,WRS,AND BRAY& LANE. ALSO THE NUMBERS ARE MISLEADING BECAUSE WE WERE CONTINUALLY BEHIND!! WE NEED Ws WITH 200yds rushing! NOT Ls with 500 passing!! NO CHANEY!!

Our offense averaged 475 yards and 36 points a game.

If you are going to get mad, get mad at our defense for being the worst in UT history. Do not understand some of you people.

Yes, he is in a weak conference playing against teams with players not as skilled as in the SEC. But guess what, he is playing against them with the same caliber of players. But he's winning.

I do not want Chaney.

He had a QB with nfl talent, 2 NFL WRs and a very very good OL and at times, our offense struggled or made questionable play calls.

Plus, 90% of the time you could tell based on the formation if it was a run or not.

Chaney is a fine OC and we should keep him if we can, he just needs to focus on the run a little more. We could do a lot worse.

Which reminds me of so many people wanting Wilcox gone, that didn't work out so good for us did it ?

Ok. I see most people have either complained we are hiring Strong or debating Chaney. Chaney is OK. We need GREAT. This is all hypothetical. Can you please just say Chaney or your list.

Our defensive failures covered up a lot of chaneys mistakes this year. Florida game, Georgia game, MSU, Mizzou.

Chaney wouldn't be on my list. I know we put up some big numbers, but I hated our offense on several occasions this year. We had a great QB, WR's, and OL, but couldn't pick up 3rd and short. We threw deep on third and short. Threw the long ball too much. Too many 3 and outs. I was frustrated all season watching this offense. It was mostly a big play offense or it sputtered.

I prefer a pro style offense, but I could be ok with a spread attack with the right OC. I miss our power running game. It setup the play action for us.

Jim Chaney would be a solid option to keep. It's hard to ignore our offense putting up near 500 yards a game.

The issue I have with keeping Chaney is the games like Vandy. Where was that offense? Why were our NFL WR's stopped all day long? If we can score 35 on USC or UGA, why the drop off for the game that mattered in getting to a bow game?

If Gundy tells us no, I would like to see us go after his OC Monken at maybe 800 grand. He makes 600 now.

I suspect that is on the head coach. JMHO, but compare how they played for CDD against Vandy vs how they played for CJC against Kentucky.

So going 24–14 over 3 years is something?

By that logic here are other possible candidates:
Sonny Dykes - LA Tech (22-14) (.611)
Darrell Hazell - Kent State (16-8) (.667)
Kyle Flood - Rutgers (9-3) (.750)
Mark Hudspeth LA Lafayette (8-4) (.667)
Ken Niumatalolo - Navy (38–25) (.603)

All have one thing in common, they had a good record this year.

Do all of them have recruiting ties in the South and NCs as a DC/OC in the SEC?

Oh yes he is winning in the BIG EAST. A whopping 60% Now that's a bench mark for success that really excites me! If he can win just over half his games there just think what he will do I. The SEC. We are so lucky !

String wouldn't be on my list

Louisville's Results:

2008 - 7 losses and 5 wins
2009 - 8 losses and 4 wins
2010 - 6 losses and 6 wins
2011 - 5 losses and 7 wins
2012 - 2 losses and 10 wins

Bold is when Strong got to Louisville. See the pattern?
