If I were a recruit, I wouldn't want to play in front of the 42 students that showed up to the game. Seriously, we b&-$: and moan about recruits yet fans can't get their butts in the seats. Vol "fans" make me sick.

Way to help the situation.

Idk if anyone knows this but students have 3 sections of seats devoted to them as well as the standing pit. They usually fill those up pretty good.

No, no one knows this, especially the OP.

OP, the students are the biggest crowd EVERY SINGLE GAME in terms of bodies in seats per section. And it's not really close.

Just because they show up doesn't mean they are any good though. They are never loud, they don't start chants, they don't bring energy. Numbers alone don't equal a good student section.

If anyone were to criticize any sections in TBA, the student sections should be DEAD LAST on the list. If they would just move some of the student seats to the first 10-20 rows in the middle of the court, it would be a lot better. Better game experience for students so more will come, will be more involved with noise, would be on TV a lot during games. Our seating scheme for the students pretty much sucks, although it is pretty cool that they have a decent allotment of courtside seats.

I can't blame them. No one wants to spend hard to come by cash watching us lose game after game.

You want butts in the seats and an energetic crowd? Give them a product that's worth a crap !!!

Why would students waste there time. This is seriously embarrassing to the campus.

I will not attend another game this year. 3 hour drive for this D-2 team is not worth it.

Students have more important things to do. Vols BB is DONE

Student section sucked balls tonight. However, you can't blame them given the competition and how UT played. It'll be interesting to see how many show up for the Ky game next Sat.

The student section was packed last week against Vandy. It will be packed for Kentucky as well. Playing UGA in basketball coming off a loss to Arkansas isn't the most attractive game if you've got other stuff to do.

Because it's called support. It isn't a waste of "there" [sic] time to support fellow students. It's a choice to only show up when we're winning.

If you can't understand the impact injuries have had on this team, you don't really get sports. This wasn't going to be a world beater squad, but it was going to be a heck of a lot better before several injuries.

They obviously had a lot of other stuff to do. Hell, if I were a student, I'd go just to see Pope because he'll be in the NBA one day. At least someone on the floor could shoot tonight.

Really random, but it is funny (and pretty sad, but typical) to see all these people suddenly show up on this part of Vol Nation just to whine and complain. It's amazing how almost all of the recent posters were nowhere to be found a few weeks ago.

Such a good point.

It is a product of the current era of Tennessee athletics. People will whine and complain when they see a chance to whine and complain.

It's pathetic.

People aren't whining and complaining. They are commenting on the obvious. Maybe you can pass out blue ribbons to the team for participating, but the ones who have standards will demand a little more than we're getting. The worst part about losing are the fools who think they are being good fans by chastising those who don't want to sit around and watch a boring team who plays without much energy to get their ass handed to them game after game.

Sorry but whining and complaining is exactly what people are doing. Not sure what you're reading.

I don't necessarily disagree with anything else you said, though. I'm as frustrated as anyone and I, for one, don't see any silver linings with this team. They suck. Period. Tonight was so bad that it pushed me into the anti-Cuonzo side of things (though I don't think we should fire him yet).

It just gets old hearing everybody cry gloom and doom over and over and over and over without adding any variety to the discussion. It feels like every thread is discussing the same thing. Talking about how ****ty we are doesn't help anything, and I'd say we've beaten the horse to death at this point.

And punks like Vols30 who were complaining from the start almost seem like they're gloating now.

Truth, less than 100 in student section. Pitiful showing for an SEC game. Pitiful.

There were SEC games with Pearl at the helm that had terrible showings, too. That's nothing new. If you're going to complain about the crowd, show up, not just cry about it.
