Student Suspended For Removing Mexican Flag

And you were wrong. So a mayor helping a diplomat raise an Irish flag in Ma. (In the US on a PUBLIC square) isn't the same thing as a school raising a mexican flag?
No, it's not the same thing as a public school displaying the flag of another country. The kid probably shouldn't have taken the flag down, but I just think it was stupid of the school to have it up. Either way, I'm not as upset about this situation as the one where the kids got sent home for wearing shirts with American flags.

it's the EXACT same thing. A frickin MAYOR allowed it to happen in a PUBLIC square. Public School with administrators compared to a Public Square with a mayor. You're right. One of those should have pissed you off a lot more. For some reason, it didn't. That view is so hypocritical.

One would think, if you hold this crazy view, that a mayor would/should have a higher standard of making sure another flag isn't raised than school administrators in a PUBLIC forum.

Don't be so dense. It's obviously a different situation when one flag is surrounded by immigrants, many of which are extremely loyal to their own country that's right across the state's border. And don't ask "How is it different?" It's not difficult to understand.

it's so funny with all this backtracking. first, it was since it was a publicly funded area, another flag shouldn't be up. since that got shot down, it's because it was close to the border.

if this happened in minnesota with the mexican flag, you wouldn't care??? I doubt it.

Who said the Irish flag should be up? I just said it's a different situation. It is a different situation. There shouldn't be another countries flag displayed alone in a public school in the United States.

And I would care if the flag was in Minnesota. The difference is Minnesota public schools likely don't feel the need to pander to Mexican citizens by doing something stupid like this.

Yeah, I know, you have this underlying hatred toward mexicans. i get it. it's not hard to figure out at all.
Why would I hate Mexicans? At all? Would it be safe to say you must have an underlying hatred towards people who care about the United States?

It was an Irish flag raised in a Mass. town in a public square with a mayor looking on with an Irish diplomat doing the honors.

West Seattle Blog… Video: 1st assembly as “Denny International Middle School”

Leading his school’s first assembly as Denny International Middle School – that second word is brand-new this year – principal Jeff Clark offered a well-received explanation for his bright outfit. He spoke within the past hour to a cafeteria filled with the 700-strong student body that speaks more than 22 languages, according to a fact sheet Seattle Public Schools media liaisons handed out. Clark also pointed out the visual representation of that – these flags hanging overhead:

Man, this should just cause people to die with outrage. They're recognizing other cultures in a Public School in the United States by using flags. The horror!!! The United States is doomed!!

We said multiple times that that would be fine. It's not blatant endorsement of a country...
raising an Irish flag isn't a blatant endorsement of Ireland?? I fail to see a difference. And please explain the school in Seattle.

Where was the national outrage over this??? Can't wait to see how this is different

I assume you're just joking now...
The last two aren't all that related. But the Seattle Public School raising flags is the EXACT same thing that happened in Texas. Yet, no outrage. Thought you'd be pissed if this happened away from the mexican border and that school would have more sense than this???

Guess not on both fronts. Color me shocked.
