It didn't...I kept the salt in them for 2-3 months and didn't notice anything..eventually had a guy come in with a stump grinder, and he took them out for $25 bucks
Much more efficient
If I can buy a few weeks without the old lady commenting on the stump it'll do. I'm renting an excavator in the fall so if worst comes to worst I'll F up the yard even more and rip it out then.
That's probably a lot more fun in the long run as well.
I'm dealing with several stumps right now and the only way to keep from effing up your yard is the stump remover which only goes so far or doing it by hand.
And don't get me started on the effin myrtles that I burned and cut six inches below the ground that ended up coming back.

Had some trees removed last summer, those stupid things are still shooting out little baby trees right from the stump.
Neighbor down the road cut down a Magnolia tree in his front yard. He left the stump and didn't do anything to it for years. Slowly it started to grow back and it's literally a Magnolia bush now.
I have that same problem, but have continued to cut the saplings as I find them.
These stupid myrtles that the folks that owned the house before me were in love with (had a dozen of the things) are the most hateful and resilient plant I have ever seen. I literally cut them off and ground level, burned the stumps three times (as in built a bed of coals about four inches deep and let them smolder) and broke the remaining pieces off below the ground.
And those hateful bastages are STILL coming back. I've about given up hope on killing them entirely and just run them over with the lawnmower now.
if your not putting anything back there, or tryingto grow grass in that spot...cover the area in salt
