Why do they say the previous play is under further review. Why not just say the previous play is under review .

Why do some schools spread out their offensive lines before bunching them back up before an extra point

Why is it that sometimes, esp late in a game, a player will fall (not step) out of bounds, but the ref still winds his arm for the clock to keep running

Why do I keep seeing kirk herbsheits top 4 on my Facebook, who cares what he thinks

Only one I can answer is on the extra point. I believe that is to keep defense honest (will go for 2 if not adjust properly)

Each play is reviewed by the replay official. If he sees something that makes him question the spot, call, etc., he tells the field official to stop the game, and conducts "further review."

Every play is reviewed. A play is under further review of they need more time or a close look at it.

Hell if I know.

Most likely their knee was down inbounds so the clock continues to run.

Because he, unlike most analysts, knows his ****.

If the player's momentum is going forward out of bounds, then the clock should stop. If he is pushed backwards out, then the clock should keep running.

Agree. If forward progress is stopped the clock keeps going...as it should.

Yes. Also, if a ball carrier's knee is down inbounds before going out of bounds (also elbow, butt, etc), the clock keeps winding. Or if his forward progress is stopped. Basically, the only time the clock stops is when going out of bounds is the thing that stops the run.
