Topic im pretty sure hasn't been covered,

Was this just some two bit band who got lucky with a heroin OD who got two songs overplayed on "alternative radio" for years on.

Or do they deserve credit where credit is due, cranking out reggae flavored feel good songs that hold up over time..

For me, still a must listen, i remember when i first moved to Florida, "40 oz To Freedom" and "Robbin The Hood" were must plays every day.. JMHO

I can play the guitar like a mother ****ing riot"

Best. Song. Evar.

That makes me sad..

Off topic, what music do you like IP? When you aren't beating me in NCAA 11 and disputing the existence of God, i never have got a grasp of your taste of music.

Deftones, Incubus, and A Perfect Circle are my go to favorite artists of all time.

Incubus, kind of let me down the last album but cant stop denying they are still one of my favorite bands,

Have you seen the documentary "Blood Into Wine",about Maynard's wine venture in Arizona? Saw it on Netflix not too long ago, if you haven't seen it i suggest checking it out...

I just listened to two Deftones songs and they sound like your generic cock rock band. Am I missing something?

no hate, just sayin

Aleays feel like I'm losing a uphill battle when I speak of them on here. What were the two songs? I dunno but Adrenaline is one if not my fav album of all time.

Around the Fur and Adrenaline were great.

Re: Sublime I don't think they were as good as everyone thinks. However, 40 Oz To Freedom is still one of my favorite albums ever.

Take back my first Deftones comment completely, way off base. Listened to six songs off the first album so far and it's allsome.

Glad to hear it man. Miss the 90's albums..

Have been listening to Faith No More's album Angel Dust for the past 45 minutes. Talk about a vastly underrated album. Love about everything Mike Patton has put out.

If you wanna hear something different from Mike Patton (really, I mean it) check out the Irony Is A Dead Scene where he did vocals for Dillinger Escape Plan. Particularly Hollywood Squares and When Good Dogs Do Bad Things. They also do a solid cover of Come To Daddy.

Deftones, Incubus, and A Perfect Circle are my go to favorite artists of all time.

As far as Deftones and Incubus go, their early stuff was awesome. Deftones was excellent all the way up to White Pony, and Incubus was only good on SCIENCE and Fungus Among Us. APC's only good album was their first. It seems to be a trend for most of these late 90's/early 2000's alternative rock bands to release quality material until they achieve success.

But yeah, Sublime was awesome. Pawn Shop is one of my all-time favorite songs.

Edit, here's some stuff from the mentioned artists... a few of my favorites:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kICLkq7jCCc - Incubus: Deep Inside

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZIXGLGFWNQ&feature=related - A Perfect Circle: Sleeping Beauty

sublime is a decent band who definitely benefited from the story of Nowell. the were also the best of that ska punk type stuff. however, for me, it's only good spring time music. if i'm driving around with the windows down and it comes on the ipod, i'll turn it up. otherwise, i generally skip over it.

i never cared for Deftones but i don't have any problem with them. just never could get into it.

APC is kinda annoying. i never could figue out why i didn't like them but liked tool.

Incubus is a big favorite of mine. i've seen them a few times, including with (i think) Deftones at Moose's. i was maybe 18 i think. they are actually underrated live, i think, because their crowd resembles a middle dance.

I like everything including and up to Morning View, and think Make Yourself was the best. after that they've definitely been a big let down. SCIENCE doesn't get enough love though. i wouldn't recommend anybody start with Fungus or Enjoy Incubus.

Sublime was great for what they were. A couple of their songs were my favorite ever. A lot of that had to do with the fact that the first time I tried acid was while listening to them.
