Suck it up Vol fans....

Thanks CBC for starting this thread but it is a shame that you had to. It also helped to identify some new NegaVols that are trying to help our recruiting efforts. I read an article the other day about a recruit checking out these boards to see who had loyal fans and who had those that always see the class half empty. On behalf of the majority of fans welcome guys and we can't wait til you take the field in Orange and White. :hi:

I only saw the 2nd half and that was on a tiny TV in a bar.

I wish we had won, we had a good chance to win but because I thought we'd lose - it doesn't sting too bad. It had an underdog feel to it the whole way.

This is the first game I've seen in a long time where I thought the other team had bigger, stronger, faster players. How LSU is not undefeated is lost on me - they are beasts physically.

That 4th and 8 pass was a needle thread throw. I've seen it over and over on ESPN and it our guy was so close to defending it.

We missed tackles and missed chances.

All said, I still feel good about this season.

all vol fans should be complaining because we are coming up on 10 years and haven't won anything significant since 98. i don't just blame chavis for tonights loss i blame the whole staff.

Ohhh come on. You are absolutely ridiculous .. this staff is making great strides over last year and will finish better than 90% of the others...

Are you serious Charly? Even a healthy Ainge is not mobile enough to get the positive yardage that Crompton did. I think the Kid did a hell of a job. First significant playing time and it's against the #1 def. in the country and he never blinked. I would call that balls of steel.

He did well.....but I am going to have to watch my TIVO'd game before I will cede that his mobility picked up more yards than a healthy Ainge would have. I think there were at least 2 1st downs (and possibly more) that had he been patient.....he could have found..or Ainge would have normally found

Crompton played one hell of a game considering the situation. That kid is gonna be special. Plus he's got fire.

Meach is a beast. I think he is ready to go pro. I obviously want him to stay though.

I know some of you wanna scream for Crompton but with Ainge we easily win this game if you still factor in all the LSU turnovers.

Crompton ran it a few times yeah, but the two plays he made you can think Superman for those.

We need to make a thread thanking Robert Meachem for keeping us close in this game. Without out him we get hammered. Crompton will be good but he wasnt that great yesterday.

Meachem has had several drops the past couple of weeks. The kid is good, but he could be more consistent. I don't think he stays, but I sure HOPE he does.

No shame in losing that game in the fashion we did. I'm upset about it, but we're moving in the right direction. We played a bunch of young guys and went toe to toe. Remember, our #1 recruiting class will be JRs next year, and we drop LSU and pick up Miss St. Future is bright.

I do wanna complain about 1 thing this season....

Our coaching at the end of games has been absolutely terrible. I dont wanna go through them all but we have let teams back in to games and squandered leads. We had a shutout against Memphis and blew that. We would have beaten Cal by 50 and blew that. Our coaches seem so scared after we get a lead that their buttholes tighten up and they get so conservative. It cost us against two excellent teams that we should have won. Quit playing scared and keep doing what UT does. :BANGHEAD2: :BANGHEAD2: :BANGHEAD2: :BANGHEAD2:

Many of you people sure as heck were quick to put all the blame on Randy Sanders for the offense's woes last year and years before that. Chavis is the Defensive Coordinator and the buck stops with him - therefore he does shoulder the blame. Tennessee hasn't put a great dense on the field since 1998 and haven't put a truly outstanding defense on the field since 2001. For pete sakes they are allowing 26 points a game to SEC competion - that is absolutely unacceptable and that falls at the feet of the Defensive Coordinator. Chavis is making the big bucks and if Randy Sanders didn't get a pass on lack of offensive execution then Chavis doesn't get a pass for lousy defensive execution.

6th ranked D last year. They kept us from being 1-11. This blaming Chavis crap is dumb dumb. Tackling needs to be worked on, not scheme. Squash that crap.

There is actually a called play for the QB and RB to botch the snap and fumble?

it's hard to be overly upset with all of the good that came out of the game.

but NO ONE has the right to tell someone not to be mad at chavis or anyone else because you can't put a label on how someone else feels. last year is over, who cares with what we do this year in reference to last. it doesn't make last year any easier and it doesn't make this loss any easier.

being positive is one thing, but telling people to be okay with losing is another. that's what losers do, find ways to be "okay" with losing. we aren't losers, we're tennessee and no matter what we blame it on; a backup qb, missed tackles, a fumble that wasn't there, or just being outplayed.....we had the game in our hands, just like the florida game and we let it slip away.

we should be undefeated and that really pisses me off. but we have 2 losses and have no chance for a championship.

i'm happy with our season, but no one has the right to tell me or anyone else that we shouldn't be upset. right now cbssportsline has us predicted to play in the outback bowl. i'm perfectly content with that beings we were going to get shafted out of a BCS Bowl anyway. But I won't accept players being arrested, losing another game, or having people be "okay" with losing.

Don't be a loser and view it just like Phil and Co. are going to view it. They are as unhappy and fired up as anyone to have lost that game, but they understand the big picture. We'll all steam and be over it by the time we put the finishing touches on Arkansas.

We'll bounce back, we always do and when we do, we'll be right in the top 10-15 at the end of the year where we need to be.

We are still a good football team. After what happened last year, how can yall complain.

We have far reached past what was expected of us. We got beat by a better team, ok. We beat them last year when we should've been killed.

And for god's sake quit pinning this on Chavis. That man should be praised for all he has done for this team. Our D is depleted b/c of injuries and it still fights its a$$ off.

Be proud to be a Vol fan, get ready to crush Arky and quit compliaing about everything.

Please!!!!!

My friend I think that gets my vote as post of the year outside of my Erin Andrew's thread..lol...Chill out gang and stop throwing this team and it's staff under the bus....would you prefer to be 5-6 this year?
