This isn't very good. Haven't seen this posted. What is the point of the bowls now? Kids realizing they may get hurt isn't worth it to them, especially when they aren't in a playoff bowl and I believe more kids are sitting out this year than previous years. With these prices, kids sitting out bowls, basketball players going pro, Wiseman, other sitting out, like Uros, what direction are the two major NCAA sports going? Basketball players can sit out and train for a year, go to Australia and play for a year, for money. What about the XFL? Could it become a minor league for high school grads? With less kids playing at younger ages, what does the NCAA do to keep up? Oh, you know who you are weasels are, please don't make this a Wiseman issue. It's an NCAA issue.

CFP expansion, USC recruiting and biggest flips

'In December, XFL commissioner Oliver Luck told the Sports Business Radio Road Show that the league is "not subject" to the eligibility rules in place in the NFL, adding that, in theory, the XFL could select players directly from high school.
“But I wouldn’t rule it out,” Luck said, per PFT. “Nor would I rule out taking a player who played a year of college football and let’s say isn’t eligible academically, which happens. Or a player who is two years out of college, and is transferring, and would have to sit out a year. A lot of guys don’t want to. ... We are in that position to be able to take players who wouldn't be eligible to play in the NFL.' ...

UGA has a reputation for having a notoriously poor traveling fanbase. They struggled to sell out the SEC championship game during some of their appearances under Richt....

Everything is a circle.

Now it is becoming en vogue for basketball players who are deemed to be worthy of a top 5 pick out of high school go overseas and play for a year.

Wait until a few of them turn out to be flops who have issues with what would amount to semi-pro competition.

Don't forget the reason the NBA stopped allowing kids out of high school to be drafted were so many of them were not very good pros. Even worse quite a few didn't even get drafted and had flushed their college eligibility down the toilet.

All that garbage about wanting to give kids at least a year to have the college experience was just that-garbage.

$8 ticket poor though? Or are they boycotting Kirby so he’ll be fired? Lol

I mean....isn't this just captialism? There's this romantic notion around it because it's college football and basketball, but in the end it's employment opportunities for the athletes. In any other profession or area, most people would support them doing what they feel is best for their financial interests.

Honestly, what was ever the point of bowls? We've got 40 of them and only a couple matter every year. Going to the Sugar Bowl used to mean a lot more and it now it means nothing to a team that's been contending for the title for the last 3 years.

I agree. Too many bowls. New Years day used to be fun as a child. 2 or 3 TV's watching the games. The bowls don't mean much to the teams these days or than coaches making a bonus.
