I took a look at MSU's box scores for the Texas and Iowa State games and they use 8 players for 10 minutes or more. Middleton will see plenty of minutes, but it would be nice if Dunbar and Nunn can come in and make a difference.

I would love to see some good screens out top for Middleton and Dunbar to try a few 3's. If they could make few early that would loosen it up inside.

Also, I saw Mercedes hit a mid range jumper against Vandy. She has a nice touch on her shot.

Finally, I think the difference will be defense on MSU's guards and rebounding.

Should I stay in Tn. and wear my white hat again to the game insuring victory or drive back home thru the snow and ice? Decisions, Decisions.

You should stay and watch lady vols because they will best M.State. Amen!!

This will be a great game to measure the ladies' progress both physically and mentally. You can also add quality of play. MSU will be a test for Russell against two physical post that do a lot of hacking. If the refs call the game right, Russell can get both of their bigs in trouble. This game will require physical and aggressive play. This will be a much more physical challenge then the Stanford game. Our best best defensive guard needs to hawk Vivians like an animal of pray. Right now Jackson would be my choice, or maybe Diamond, minus the sometimes bad attitude. We cannot allow their small guard, William, to take advantage of our defense. She has very good dribble drive skills and is not in fear of contact. She can take a beating and keep on ticking. In fact I would describe MSU as a blue collar team with a fairly good skill set. Vic has these kids believing in themselves and the stars behind their names do not matter. To win this game the ladies need to bring their hard hats and lunch pail. We can't backdown, lack aggression or fear contact. Oregon walked into Starkville with their height, 5 stars and athletic family pedigrees and left town with their tails tucked between their legs like a whipped hound dog. We can win, but to do so, we must play much better than what we displayed in the Vandy game, have a good game plan, and most of all Holly has to be prepared to outcoach Vic. This is our chance to prove that we are a real top 25 team.

Actually, Oregon played Mississippi State November 25th in Hawaii, and the game was within 4 points until Mississippi State pulled away in the 4th quarter and won by 12. It was Mississippi that destroyed Oregon in December, with Ionescu out with a broken thumb.

Diamond is about 70 percent of the player she could be. Her mental approach to the game needs a lot of work. She needs to work for better shot selection and avoid the bad turnovers that plague her in many games. She should have twice as many assists as turnovers and that is not the case. She has 38 assists and 49 turnovers. If she were to shoot 50 percent today and get seven or eight assist I think we win by ten.

I don't think her attitude is bad but I do think that she has sometimes let her frustrations affect her play, especially last season. I don't see that this season.

She also visibly shows her frustration with her teammates at times. That is very bad for team cohesiveness, which has been an issue for a couple of years now.

This is the crux of the problem right here. She talks about wanting to be NPOY, but she's not delivering. She needs to get her head where her abilities could take her.

I didn't see the game but I looked at the ESPN box score - 6 assists and 17 turnovers? Is that correct?
