Super Bowl XLIV: Colts vs. Saints

GO SAINTS! I can't listen to another minute of people in Tennessee slurping all over the Colts like they are our local team.

And people just can't seem to figure out why the rest of the world thinks we're a bunch of window lickin du*****es.

Should be an interesting game, and for as much as I would have liked to see Favre in the SB one more time, two weeks of "Is this Favre's final game?" stories would have grow tiresome VERY quickly.

:good!:

The thing that bugs me the most is how people act like Manning is the only player from UT who has ever been in the NFL. Every team in the final four had at least one UT representative on it, but probably 90% of people in the state were pulling for the Colts "because Peyton played at UT"

Tough to argue that Manning isn't far and away the highest profile player from UT. Likely to go down as the greatest professional Vol and is the face of the NFL today.

And the impact he's had on the way the game is played has yet to be realized, really.

People are beginning to realize that a QB being able to throw a ball over them mountains really doesn't matter. Well, everyone except for Al Davis.

And now we have it.................................

IT'S PEYTON AND THE COLTS

vs.

THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS with the Meach and JGreer.

Two teams that went undefeated till the final few weeks of the season and what fans would wonder if a matchup would actually happen.

Will it be Peyton for ring #2 or a team that finally got it together after being viewed as being one-dimensional on one side of the ball.

THOUGHTS?
Well I will say that the Colts havent impressed the hell out of me against the 2 teams they beat in the playoffs.....RAVENS/JETS couldnt put an offense together to save their life.....the Saints however played 2 great offenses in Arizona and the Vikings....This time Manning may score but the Saints will score as well so Im feeling upset...

The Colts have played 2 very good defenses, the Cardinals and Vikings could not put a defense together to save their lives (I used your words) The Colts destroyed the Cards also this season. The Saints had to get 5 turnovers to win at home, in overtime and by only 3 points, the Vikings lost that game more than the Saints won it, I hope they don't expect to win the turnover battle against us by 4.

I want to see Garcon win MVP of this Super Bowl. That would be awesome!

That would be nice to see, if he can repeat his performance of the AFCCG he should, but I am pretty sure it will be the winning QB. You know how that goes.

Did the Saints really impress you that much against the Vikings? The Vikings served that game up on a silver platter and it still took OT and several questionable OT calls for them to win.

The Colts beat the best defense in the NFL and another great defensive team in the Ravens.

The Colts beat two 9-7 wild card teams at home. The Saints got a gift of a win against a very good Vikings team. Neither team was hugely impressive.

The Saints got 5 gifts from the Vikings and still could only win by 3 in overtime. The Ravens dominated the Pats, the Colts dominated the Ravens. The Jets beat the Chargers who most felt was the best team in the NFL and the Colts beat and in the second half dominated the Jets. The Jets had the #1 D in the NFL and the Colts scored 30 on them. I would say that is pretty impressive.

A 9-7 team that dominated the Pats, usually a great playoff team at NE, and a Jets team that had already won at Cincy and won at SD, who was considered the "hot" team that Indy didn't want to face and eveyrone had all but put in the Super Bowl. And neither win was a gift or a fluke, which is what I consider the Saints victory over the Vikings.

The only member of that secondary that has a clue is Darren Sharper, the rest of them don't realize what they are in for. I hope Williams brings pressure. He was on 104.5 The Zone here in Nashville and pretty much said he wants to hurt Peyton.

He won't get a chance to hurt Peyton. After the Jets hit him once (sacked him twice), they never got through the Offensive Line.
