Sabrina avg 13 pts, 6 rebs & 5 assist Diamond avg 17 pts 7 rebs & 4 assist. Like I said put some respect on her name.

Sabrina's also a freshman and Diamond is a senior. Sabrina will be an AA and possibly also a top WNBA pick by the time her college career is over.

But it's not just stats, although Ionescu has had 4 triple doubles this year. It's that Ionescu is imo a stronger leader and much more successful making her teammates. This is not to diminish DeShields--athletically there is no contest--and the difference may in part be due to coaching and/or teammates. But it's a major difference nevertheless and also distinguishes her from other talented/successful freshmen (Slocum, for instance).

I've watched the PAC-12 all season - none of this surprises me. They have really good guards and good coaching. The PAC-12 is the best conference overall in WCBB.

I think the reason people miss on Osahor is because she will play like a Semi truck. She can get so involved in setting screens that almost kill the defender, shoving players - both offensively and defensively - out of position with that huge body, etc. that when she makes an athletic move in the paint it goes unnoticed. Miss St's game plan was to run Wa down, and it worked. Osahor looked bad in 4th qtr., but how did Cedes look against Louisvile in the 4th?

Osahor has more talent than some will give her credit; she gets by with fouls she should not.

Osahor has great court vision, good hand-eye coordination, and good footwork, in a non-traditional basketball physique.

I know. Canada got hit with a lot more contact on the other end, but no call. And UCLA breathes on Dangerfield and off to the FT line she goes. Smdh.

It's crazy and Billings is getting killed on the block and there are no calls, it's like why even watch it (the rest of the tournament) when we know what ESPN wants the outcome to be, and to be honest they probably feel a Uconn upset means no one watching the championship game, when Truth be told a lot of people are tired of UConn and their winning

As I sit here watching the games today, I am even more furious with Holly and her coaching staff! These other teams are so very good and it is because of the coaching. Player development has been a big focus with them, too. These coaches and assistants actually KNOW what they need to do. So just keep walking with your hands on your hips Holly while your assistants SIT on the bench and watch YOU. We'll never see our ladyvols in the Sweet 16 or better until all of you are gone. Please walk away.

That's not the memo I got..... :hmm:

I agree. They might not have an elite team at the level of a Baylor, ND, or South Carolina, but as far as the depth of quality teams the Pac 12 is easily the best conference IMO....

It's sickening to watch uconn....great team....but when they actually do get called for a foul it's pout time...smartasses like their coach.
But you're all watching though. "No one wants to watch them." "Everyone hates them." "They get all the calls." Whatever you say doesn't matter you are STILL watching them. That's all ESPN cares about. You want to "hurt" ESPN or UConn... don't watch.

I quit watching UConn years ago. Their games are so predictable. You already know they are probably going to win by at least 20+ points. They can't help it, but it gets boring. No competition or thrill in their games. While it's amazing to UCONN fans, everyone else is bored.

The UCLA game wasn't predictable at all. UCLA stayed toe to toe with them in the second half. Other teams should feel optimistic.

Good to know you're doing your part as a LV fan. Those Vol games have to be crazy exciting for you. There is for sure no way to predict what is going to happen from one possession to the next. I have watched them quite a bit over the past two years, mainly to see if I could figure them out. It took me til the middle of this year.

Didn't know of her past. Makes me look like the ass I can be over part of what I posted above. Sorry for part of the post, but the observation stands, there are lots of body types like this in the women's game. I still wonder when really good athletic types are going to thin this type out.

Me, too. Gritty girl. Easy to admire that story!

No thrill? If you know basketball and enjoy watching excellent pure basketball (below the rim) there is no better thrill than watching the execution by UConn. They play better pure basketball than anyone. They had 30 assists against Syracuse. Are you kidding me?

Big thrill for me

Yes, they execute really well, but who wants to sit and watch them constantly blow out teams besides their fans? Right now no one can compete with them. I'm a big WCBB fan period, but watching them beat a team by 20+ points every time they step on the court does nothing for me. Again, it's not their fault. I applaud them for staying focus and never playing down to their competition.

I have been beating the "assists" drum for a couple of years when comparing the type of basketball played by UT and the type of game played by UConn.

It was mentioned during the game today that UConn has 5 players with more than 100 assists this year. UT has but two. Even more telling is that UConn has 831 assists this year compared to 468 for UT. UT ranks 90th in D1 in assists.

I think that no matter how many great players UT recruits, the coaching staff needs to change the way they teach offense. Otherwise not much is going to change.

Great teams move the ball, always looking for the player that has the best shot - UT doesn't do that.

By know means am I not watching to hurt UConn in any way. I'm not trying to take a shot at UConn. It's just their games are so predictable and becomes boring to me. It's exciting for you of course because you're a UConn fan and don't get me wrong it's a beauty the way they hustle and execute offensively. And by thrill, I'm referring to a competitive game where both teams are competing and executing. I've turned off Lady Vols games this season also because of the lack thereof. Just like it's gets boring watching blowouts, it's frustrating and disappointing to watch lackadaisical and poor fundamental play as well.

Sabrina also shot .414 from 3 and has a 2.0 A/TO ratio so there is better efficiency.
DD is a fabulous athlete and occasionally plays a brilliant game, but like TN this year she also plays a number of terrible games and she has yet to put together an efficient year in college. Brilliant and erratic.

What did McCowan do against Russell?

Not very damn much!

McCowan came off the bench in the first matchup and shot 77% against Russell. She had 14 pts, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks. Russell played all 40 minutes of that game and shot 43%... I don't know what her numbers were against McCowan. McCowan came off the bench and had even fewer minutes in the second matchup and was ineffective offensively, but had five rebounds. Russel scored 9 points in that game, but she played 40 minutes so I have no stats of her head-to-head with McCowan.

McCowan has been up and down this season, and mostly played off the bench. She 15/5 against LSU in 22 minutes but was a no-show in some other games. But she did well in their last non-Tourney game against SC in the SEC Championship. She played 30 minutes, shot 50% and had a 15/12 double double and three blocks. (Russell, of course, had a great game against SC scoring 16 in 37 minutes).

The thing is, McCowan has shown a lot of improvement in her skills and efficiency, and has two years of eligibility left.
