Syria attack: Activists says dozens, including children, killed by gas

The problem was caused by the City of Flint first of all. Michigan had to take over the city's finances because they were unable to control their balance sheet.

So, there was a shortfall of money in Flint, causing Michigan to step in, and a shortfall of money in Michigan to fix the problem. Should the feds step in every time a town or city runs short of money to fix their problems?

No, no more than the Feds need to be bombing countries halfway around the globe and (possibly) rebuilding over there for several times more than what could have been spent at home.

I guess you still don't get it, do you?

Does it matter who's at fault? An American city has water poisoning it's citizens. We are talking about water here, a staple to sustain life, you dimwit.

I don't believe that I have come out in favor of bombing anything since Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I guess you don't get it .

City officials bankrupted the town and now they expect the feds to step in. It's Michigan's problem.

The oddest people is the number of “murica” sheep on the left cheering for war. Seems to be the worst part about Obama. He turned the left pro war

The progressives have historically been pro war. They took a 40 year haitus after Vietnam. Obama just led them back home to their natural pro war stance.

Yes it matters who’s at fault. Stop putting those idiots in charge.

Yeah, neither of you get it. It wasn't ever an argument about who should pick up the tab in Flint. It was the point that if the Feds are going to be spending money like drunken sailors anyways, it may as well be spent here at home vs overseas. It was simply a point being made about the waste of resources, not an necessarily proclamation that the Feds needed to step in at Flint.

Oh, I don't know. That seems to be the common theme.

It matters greatly, industrial polluters should be held accountable and forced to pay for the clean up or whatever it takes to fix the problem. Not the taxpayers.

Except it wasn't entirely on industrial polluters. The pipes had lead in them and the treatment plant was insufficient if memory serves.

I'm gonna try and play nice, but your attitude really makes this hard. First, Trump is not "my boy". I honestly am not a fan. He talks way too much and I wish his aides would steal his phone and keep his ass off of twitter. But, he is the POTUS. You can whine and ***** about it, but I'm not seeing a change any time soon. And honestly, I think the Dems, in their fervor to chase after him, are treading on thin ice. They're setting new precedents on how far you can go to try and take down a sitting President, and when those same tactics are used the next time they're in office, well, it's potentially going to bite them in the ass.

All of that aside, please, detail the crimes Trump has allegedly committed. Satisfy my curiosity, because I'm not sure of everything he's being accused of anymore. And if you will, please, explain to me why Trump's alleged illegal activities are so much worse than those alleged perpetrated by "your" Hillary. Why do you find it okay that a Democrat break the law, but hell no to a Republican doing it? And before you go into the "Trump must be my boy" routine that I've seen you use more than once to deflect, I honestly don't like the guy. I didn't vote for him. Also didn't vote for Hillary. I honestly was disappointed that we were given two very piss poor choices for President.

Your post encapsulates the entire Trump phenomenon. "I personally don't like him, but I hate you."

Comment made on CNN this morning about conservative media and how they balance their disdain for the loudmouth jerk with placating their base: they aren't pro-Trump. They are just anti against the people that are anti-Trump.

It's quite a phenomenon. Everyone will say they think he's a fraud and a tool, but party loyalty forces you to just take sides with him solely to never admit the other side was right about him all along.

As Trump would say, SAD!

If left didn’t anoint the most non electable and widely hated candidate in the history of presidental elections and then assume the rights vote was moot and didn’t matter... maybe the rest of the voting population wouldn’t have shoved Trump down the whole establishments throat. Again, the two best slogans since “it’s the economy stupid”. MAGA and “drain the swamp”. Both resonate greatly with a disenfranchised voting population.

An inferior candidate from an electability standpoint ran against what was claimed (not by me) the best resumed and most qualified candidate (again not by me) in modern times and won.

When can the left finally just go find a mirror and look in and admit “ok we have no damn idea what platform or candidate we need to be promoting.”

They got lazy and assumptive on outcome and got waxed by a fed up population. Plain and simple.

I like how so many of them are now denying voting for him and expect us to believe it, while defending every stupid, embarrassing, bumbling, corrupt, criminal thing he does.

Most of us are just laughing our asses off at how triggered you guys are claiming we’re backtracking.

Please keep up the message though thru mid terms. Railing against a fed up voting public’s choices is a great strategy. Truly...

Oh, I don't know. That seems to be the common theme.

The point was that the money spent overseas could have been spent here at home.

Instead, the counterpoint is try to argue that the Feds shouldn't be stepping into state issues/problems... which I agree with.

However, the statement was about the money that was wasted overseas... not who was at fault in Flint. Two totally different arguments... but conveniently used to divert away from the fact that we are so willing to waste blood and treasure overseas instead of "wasting" treasure here at home.

This is a sidebar discussion. Has nothing to do with the money and resources wasted in Syria. The point was clearly regarding if we are going to actually "waste" money (which I'm not a fan of by the way), why not waste it here at home instead of overseas?

Is this really that difficult for some of you to understand? Or are you intentionally being difficult?

That's funny, because the same can be said about the other side, as well. You are are two sides of the same coin. Both sides look ridiculous right now. Each side is ready and itching to get into a conflict with Russia, but for different reasons.

What is the matter with that? No different than love the sinner, hate the sin...

Just because someone is anti-war, it doesn't mean they are against the troops.

Is this really that hard for you to understand? Are you gas-lighting right now?

The midterms* are going to brutal for you guys. Trump has endorsed 5 straight losing candidates, including a Senatorial race in the reddest state in America. Even Stevie Wonder can see what's getting ready to happen.

I lean to the right on several issues, but I wouldn't shed a single tear if the House or Senate flipped. I'm up to my eye balls in both parties counterfeiting, bull**** and warmongering.

What about the trillions the neo-cons blew in Iraq, citizen tRump was against the invasion.

All of these resources spent on war could have been better served by being used here in the US. The money could have been used for productive infrasturcture needs and the mental focus of the nation could have been used on more productive peace time endeavors.
