Tajh Boyd has another Big Day

I route for this kid. Feel like he was done wrong by UT (even if it was though a two-timing douche-bag), and part of me feels bad for him over that. Hope he does well.

Yeah the right thing would have been to take him so he could sit the bench for five years.

I don't care if he was the 23rd choice. He got him and that's the bottom line.

Oh, I agree, it turned out about as well as it could have. I just remember the madness that was happening on VN after we missed out on Scroggins, Heaps, et al. Wouldn't trade Bray for any of those guys.

I wish Boyd well. The guy wanted to come to UT, so that alone makes me want him to succeed regardless of what happened between Fulmer, Kiffin and Boyd. He is irrelevant to our program at this point and you can't say he would or wouldn't have done whatever at UT, but it doesn't matter. Comparisons are useless. I just find it hard to dislike the guy. I don't understand why anyone argues about this or even speaks of him like we'd be better off with Boyd. Bray is our guy. Boyd never was.

Why could TN not have both? Redshirt Bray. Let Tajh Boyd start three years, then Bray start two years. Great teams need four stars backing up four stars.

Uh, Bray would have beaten out Boyd and it wouldn't have been close.

Because we didn't sign him and Doc Brown hasn't completed his time machine yet. We just don't need him either. Don't discount Worley on star ratings.

Absurd post. Bray seems the better pro style QB, no question about that, but you don't ever turn away very talented players that want to come, especially when you have a roster that is sorely lacking in talent when you do it. Boyd has talent, looks alot better in the pocket than I thought he would.

Why do we keep bringing this up? Our QB is our best player, and his backup is arguably the best backup QB in the SEC. There's no weakness there worth discussing or second-guessing. Seriously?

The Orange Overall Crowd is pissed off that Kiffin didn't take a 5'11" spread QB who never stood a chance of playing QB at UT. It's hilarious.

Even if Kiffin had lied to Boyd about his chances of playing QB here, he probably would have transferred by now anyway.

Then why did Matt Simms play last year AND even start?

Because the coaches didn't want Bray's first college experience to be getting broken in half by the teams on the front 2/3 of the schedule.

Having a decent backup is stupid, just look at the colts. Wait....

Always good to have a solid backup. However, I can't say I miss the QB controversy, and I think we're better off without it.

Alabama had it to start the year and I would love to be sitting where they are. There is only controversity if you are losing.

....yet some of his plays are best forgotten. But I'll remind you anyway:

McCarron and Sims are about equal in talent. Bray and Boyd are not.
