Tajh Boyd vs. Jesse Scroggins?

Sorry I said anything. I accused no one of being racist.

Well, since we just finished debating whether or not Kansas could possibly produce a good football player, maybe we're just a bit sensitive. I'm sure there's no harm done.

Anyhow, I too wonder if it would have been better to get Boyd on campus this year and agree that BJ's departure really emphasized our need to have a 3rd QB option. I don't think Rozier was in the picture--and who knows what he brings to the options this fall, but I suspect it's something less than a 'weak-kneed, gimpy' Boyd especially as the season progresses and Boyd gets more time to heal.

As a final thought though... I have to keep reminding myself to write off the 2009 season.

Did you not read my post?

Well if ESPN says it, he will surely start the first game for Clemson this year and his new baboon knee will leave Spiller in the dust after a fake option.

Why did we say no to Bryce Petty and yet are recruiting Heaps so heavy?

The dark side blows darth.

I was saying that according to the last known information, he plans to be back in action by July. I'm sorry he told it to ESPN and not someone else...

there's a huge difference in the time a person feels ready and a Dr/PT feels ready when it comes to an ACL. Take it a step further for football ready and I just don't see him out there this year. The strength and stability just won't be ready yet IMO

I don't know if anyone has considered that Tajh just might not be any good.

For the millionth time, Boyd wasn't going to play this year. He had knee surgery. Also, Scroggins is 3 inches taller.

Clemson seems to think he will be ready come fall. And besides, that's not the reason Lane told him to go elsewhere. Arthur Jeffrey had an injury too and we took him.

Scroggins has a better arm and is slightly taller (2 inches, not 3) than Tajh. Bigger frame too. He's also coming out of a more pro style offense. I'm not justifying the move with Boyd. I still don't understand why you don't take him, but Kiffin's reasoning had nothing to do with the fact that he was injured. He wouldn't have seen the field this year anyway.

Who cares about Boyd? He is not a vol and neither is Coleman. Scroggins would fit well into CLK'S offense as would Heaps. I'll take Scroggins on a non repaired knee over dual threat Boyd with a limp. Heaps is the chosen one and Kiffin's all star recruiters will have him in orange. It would be nice to get another Qb as well, Fulmer missed three years running and it cost him his job.

Boyd was not a dual-threat QB.

It would be in Boyd's and Clemson's best interests to let him stay off the field and rehab.

How many times has it been proven that knee surgeries take at least a year to heal?

It took a lot longer than that for Edgerrin James to come back at full speed.

Tajh is not a hair taller than 6ft and that is reaching a little.

Where are you seeing that? I've never seen him listed as shorter than 6'1". I know sometimes those are inflated, but I have yet to see any proof that he is not that tall.

Taking a kid that has had major knee surgery before they come to college is always a risk. They say he will be playing this fall, but I just can't believe they would give up taking a medical redshirt to let him have a full year in the S&C program before starting to play. Letting him play this year is borderline reckless.

Bryce Brown was listed as 6ft on his Rivals page. Go look at the Army All American game their standing next to each other plenty of times, and Tajh is not any taller than him.

Jesse Scroggins 6-2/191
Tajh Boyd 6-1/210/4.60

looks to me like one ince differnce and Tajh is better built
if it is true about him being ready come july then kiffin may end up kicking himself

i would be happy to do it for him :lolabove:

i do not understand why Kiffin will take Jesse Scroggins but would not take Tajh Boyd .. after watching highlights of both Tajh and Jesse it looks like Tajh has the better arm, if Heaps commits elsewhere i think Kiffin will have wished he would have gave Tajh a chance because i think he will be a better qb down the road than Scroggins will

its really simple-----------hes a idiot :)

Yep. And, if Coleman had quit in time for Kif to consider that as part of this year's recruiting, my guess is that Boyd would be packing for Knoxville.

It's also worth noting that a QB the caliber of Boyd didn't care that BJ was on the team as he felt he could outplay him.

This is one mulligan I wish Kiffin and Company could have to reconsider. BJ quit at a bad time for the team, but it is what it is.
