A British man stuck in Afghanistan has today been filmed waving a UK passport while pleading with Boris Johnson: 'Get me and my kids out of here'.

Speaking with a strong northern accent, the man is seen telling ITV film crews outside a temporary British embassy in Kabul that the army is refusing to let him into the capital's airport for evacuation.

Flashing a British passport as he made his desperate plea, the man told ITV: 'I'm a British citizen, my kids are British and we're stuck here, they closed the door on us and they're shooting at us.

So has anybody bothered to ask why these citizens of free countries were in Afghanistan? Why they chose to be in an unstable country putting themselves and their families at risk? There's the very distinct impression that many people weren't there with government or military sponsorship.

Perhaps they are primarily people who "identify" as American citizens.

The scary part is that while they claim they don't know the exact # of Americans left they won't tell us how many the do know are still there. If that information comes out some simple math could paint a very bad picture.

Oh it’s going to happen they are just trying to delay the stay of execution as long as possible in a feeble attempt to run out the clock. The information will eventually come out if by no other means than some underling(s) leaking it to avoid being made a scapegoat

Someone has to run the hotels and other western-style businesses that any capital city around the world has.

They know how many..Passport barcodes. Why the DoD deflects to State

Makes as much sense as anything else, and more than a lot of other reasons. Apparently we weren't digging up the strategic materials the Chinese want; and except for CIA petty cash, we (unlike the Chinese will be) apparently aren't in the cash part of the poppy pipeline. Probably because we are consumers now rather than manufacturer/processors, so we now export our service industry expertise because there's not much else left of us.

That’s impossible the cat lady @evillawyer has assured us that the esteemed Ron Klain stated over 53,000 people have been evacuated as of yesterday! The vegetable in chief is doing a glorious job in addressing this fiasco of his own making. Are you saying his eminence Mr Klain would state a falsehood? Blasphemous!
