I'm sure Biden had plans for some big JFK like speech on 9/11 regarding the successful pullout and the memory of all those lost and yada yada yada. Imagine what that will look like now with this debacle either freshly in the rearview or more than likely still dragging on. The two are now inextricably linked. Both of pathetic failings by our leadership and intelligence community to properly diagnose and resolve a threat staring them in the face, and a lot of people died for it.

prayers for those trying to get out and our troops
It’s getting real. First terror attack on the new Taliban Regime’s watch appears to have occurred. I really really hope there are not US casualties, nothing to do with politics just don’t want to see any more life wasted there by our people.

When it turns out the airport gets overrun and US soldiers, diplomats, civilians and Afghan friendlies/women/children are all killed…well, just prepare for that eventuality. This is what you get with fantasyland, “this s*** looks good on paper” planning by incompetent, child like, immature ideologues. Biden should go down hard along with the rest of that incompetent s*** show of an administration.

Suicide bomber. Fox News reports 3 US troops have been wounded in Kabul airport attacks.
Edit: ND40 beat me to it. Sorry, I didn't see this ^^^^^ was already posted above mine.

It's interesting that the BBC broke the news.

The Taliban claimed to have forewarned NATO...

The Taliban has claimed credit for tipping off NATO forces about a potential terrorist plot targeting Hamid Karzai international airport. The would-be bomb attack was meant to discredit them, an official said.
An “imminent attack” in Kabul airport hatched by Islamist militants was reported earlier by the British Armed Forces Minister James Heappey, who called the intelligence “very, very credible”.

Zabihullah Mujahid, who holds the office of Information Minister in the Taliban-installed government in Afghanistan, told the Russian media that his organization was the source of the information. The threat was not specific, he said in an interview, but the plan was to provoke chaos and violence at the airport and hurt the Taliban’s reputation.
Over the last 20 years we have learned things and changed,” the official said in the interview. “We want to prove that we are not what anti-Taliban propaganda has portrayed us to be. We want to show that to the world.”
The Taliban seized control of Kabul earlier this month, triggering a collapse of the NATO-backed government and prompting a hectic evacuation of tens of thousands of people through the Kabul airport. The US and its allies were given time until the end of August to fully pull out from Afghanistan.
RT has a crew on the ground in Kabul, covering the dramatic events unfolding in the Afghan capital amid the transition of power. On Wednesday, RT International correspondent Murad Gazdiev and the RT Arabic team witnessed and filmed Taliban gunmen firing warning shots in an effort to ward off Afghans desperate to flee.

We were the ones to warn NATO about potential terrorist plot targeting Kabul airport, Taliban spokesman tells Russian media

Wonder why Ron won't tell us: 1) how many were US citizens, 2) how many US citizens remain to be evacuated, 3) how many of our Afghan allies remain to be evacuated and 4) how many of those 80K were evacuated by us rather than by our allies.

How kamala will spin is that those who were left behind wanted to be left behind.

The numbers that pentagon and cia peeps are saying is that there will thousands left behind if the 8-31 date remains.
