I'm more talking about the reports about the women being killed. Oh, I'm sure there were plenty of Americans turned away. I believe that portion of the story.

I think the Taliban has been extremely restrained with Americans to this point and the story is pretty suspect.

But still, why not allow private charters to fly in and who made the call not to allow them to fly people out? Which Admin or .mil member was afraid of being upscaled by a group of former SOF guys?

Also, the question that needs to be asked of Biden and company is why he used Americans as human shields in the first place. That's the question nobody wants to answer.

Watch for any attempts by Americans to rescue anyone to be greeted with Logan Act charges.

Biden claimed that the military people on the ground told him to give up Bagram in his speech the other day. I'm sure those same people made this call, also.

I want to post this in blue font because I can't believe people on the ground would actually give that advice, but right now, I'm not sure...

as I've stated my bet is that's what they told him after he said no to more troops and this was a well then here's the best we can do within those constraints.

The more troops you had out on the streets, the more targets there would have been for suicide bombers and other trouble.

yes and the more likely we could have gotten the people out we were trying to get out rather than what we did.

was the mission just to leave or was the mission to get the people out we promised to?

seems the former

Good image. The workhorse of American military rotary wing aircraft used to execute someone.
If they wanted to torture someone I could think of much easier ways than this. In fact, I find it hard to believe that they have anyone that knows how to fly a helicopter like a blackhawk.

That could be the case, but that would be a huge dereliction of duty. A General should have responded that he didn't recommend that course of action for the following reasons. Keeping Bagram open is the best way to proceed for the following reasons. Here is what we need in order to execute that plan.

You know, underestimating the Afghans is pretty dangerous. And who's to say some of the pilots we trained didn't defect (or were moles) to the Taliban side?

We trained them.

But yeah, it's an expensive way to torture/kill someone.

Sure they have people to fly them. You go to the Afghan pilots and say “fly them or we kill all your family” simple as that.

And I don’t think they used the helo to execute as much as to make that execution a very visible example.

But the message is worth it to them. Going to be even more difficult things to see. It will haunt Biden for years.

Edit: Got ND'ed

It's a great publicity piece for the Taliban.

"We fought the American devils for 20 years and now we have their machines, comply or else".

Wonder how many Afgans are thinking Biden is "crushing it"?

Having a dementia patient on conference calls and in meetings with other world leaders, like Putin and Xi Jinping, is a huge national security risk. Every member of Biden's cabinet should be held accountable for not invoking the 25th.
