Normally I think it would be somewhat ill-advised for a player to declare after such a season. It's a mighty weak spring-board in my opinion. Yes I know he put up some good overall numbers, but he was also very inconsistent, shaky and really inspired very little confidence in many of the games. He was as likely to contribute to a busted play as a pass completion, it often seemed. Kind of a loose cannon.
That said, Bray is in kind of a tenuous position...I don't know that it would raise his NFL stock a huge deal to stay for a season of starting over and to assume a role in an offense in which his style likely wouldn't really fit.
If I were on the NFL side of things, there are a number of kids I'd probably look at before Bray because of the frequent shakiness in his performance and a perceived lack of being really grounded. I guess I'm trying to say he just didn't look to me like a quarterback who is really comfortable in his own skin.
That said, he will get his chance somewhere in an NFL uniform, and I certainly wish him the very best.
