I'm not sure who was in the boat retrieving the unexploded mine but the boat that's pulled up along side of the tanker is definitely a IRGC boat comparing pictures.

Its definitely a FIAC, but what makes you certain that its definitely a IRGC boat? There are no marking nor are there flags indicating that it is. Just saying that its not out of the realm of possibility that this vessel isn't a IRGC vessel, but is made to resemble one.

Not to mention that those boats could be widely used by others than Iran. Also if it were Iran retrieving an unexploded missle/bomb, that doesn't prove they fired/attached it. If a US vessel retrieved it, would that prove we put it there?

Comparing the pictures above. Now the ship owner attacked is saying it wasn't a mine but something flying above the water.

Regardless if Iran did this or not it isn’t grounds for us to attack them. The tankers were not US flagged nor was the cargo even US bound. It is grounds for us to strengthen protection of international shipping thru the Straight. Put a US destroyer between the tanker under their protection and fire warning shots. If they attack the tanker light their asses up.
