Taxpayers would get checks from $600 $1200

I am not saying they shouldn't get it back. I am all for people keeping as much of their money as possible. My point was, a couple making $140,000 receiving $600, should almost be meaningless to that couple.

a married couple with two kids stands to receive $1800, which would go a long way to cover the cost of braces for one kid, etc. "Making" 140K a years means you only actually see about 80-90K, probably even less than that.

they'd be receiving $1,200. which is enough for a small flatscreen, a laptop, etc. hardly meaningless. $140k sounds like a lot of money, until your mortgage is 6K a month because the average house price is 750K.

I don't live in LA, the average house is not 750K here.

As I said, I am all for the government using as little money as possible. They should think the idea out even further. Less taxes, more money in the individual's pocket, more spending.

Just consider this idea petty. A band aid if you will.

Yes, getting money back is helpful. I should hope if the parents were not receving this return they could find a way to still "eek" the braces out.

If you have kids, trust me you ain't living high on the hog.

Move to Tennessee and you won't have those problems.

The way you make it sound I almost feel sorry for the poor bums making 140K.:cray:

You feel sorry for the people who work hard and earn their money only to have the gov't turn around and decide someone else deserves it? Yeah, I feel the same

I will also add, the $300 per children only is pure crap. We have a dog we love like a member of the family and I think I should get $150 for that.

i couldn't make that kind of money in tennessee. :p

My best friend just moved to San Jose and the rent for his one apartment bedroom is like $1,800. It is just crazy how pricey stuff is out there.

I think Bush does this at times cause he likes hearing a portion of the population melt down. It's not a fix all it's just to pump it back into the economy. I can spend my money better than the govt can any day if the week. And like someone else already said, if you don't want it, I'll be glad to take it off your hands.
