I don't have "insider" information. My parents and grandparents are legacy donors and my father attended a donor brunch this weekend. There were several. A lot of people are unhappy. Actually, it has escalated beyond that.

There is talk of a donor sit-out at Mizzou. My parents own a block of donor seats behind the UT bench, and their friends own blocks behind them, and they have been asked to keep their seats vacant for Mizzou. Has anybody else gotten a call like that?

It's not the fans, it's the absolute joke the AD's office has become.. If a big name does not want to come here it is not the fans but the turmoil inside that office.. It's pretty obvious bringing the football program from national joke back to national prominence IS NOT their first priority..

There are some in the AD that either need to get on board or step aside. Hopefully pressure is now being applied that will change this.. In some bizarre way Dooley should be thanked for this or should I say Dooleys ineptitude should be thanked...

We're only negative when we suck, like for the last 4 years, and it's not just us, check out almost any any big time school with a passionate fan base and it's the same way. It's not negativity if it's the truth.

...they're for fans of teams to get on a dream/rant all they want. They're for people to disagree or agree. They're for sharing ideas and insights. They're for catching up on the latest information, injuries, recruits, rumor, campus tidbit, etc. That's why we log on and why many advertisers pay to have their banners immediately to your right.

The only issue I have is when mature adults (I know, I know,...there are fewer each day...) start to disparage, insult, name-call, etc. That turns me off and I may take a day or two off from the board.

Potential players know all this. They've heard their parents, families, high school fans, local news, etc. praise/bash their respective HS coaches/play calling/mascots/cheer leaders/ etc. They're used to it.

The only time when this behavior becomes destructive is when it veers into possibilities for a coaching change. That is the #1 issue to avoid to a new college player. They avoid it at all costs so as to not get ignored, over-looked, schemed into obscurity, mis-positioned on the field, etc. by a coach that didn't recruit them. To the extent that is happening here, for some recruits, UT is probably being taken off their list (formally or informally).
