It was weak. Ppl in the upper deck were leaving with 3 minutes to play and we were down by 2. Neyland is the same way (UCLA 2009), the people who don't cheer or stay for the whole game should give their tickets to unfortunate VOLS fans that couldn't ever make it to a game. I guarandamntee they would cheer! Posted via VolNation Mobile
No need to, I did my part. Too hoarse to yell anymore. I'll go again and yell some more. Win or Lose, I just wish others felt like that, that's why it is weak now. I'll be at Florida, Memphis, and Vandy games giving my all for Tennessee. Posted via VolNation Mobile
Can we just start a thread entitled, "Our fans suck" and lump all the Neyland/ TBA/ Lindsey-Nelson/ Regal Soccer/ Sherri Parker Lee crowds suck. It'd be more cogent. Posted via VolNation Mobile
I always enjoy the people at home who complain about the fans at the game. Also, tickets are widely available for games and priced pretty reasonably. Unless they just give them all out for free, someone will always complain about prices.
Not for basketball if you are willing to sit upstairs.
One problem with the crowd (at least last night) is the team didn't have sustained runs. They score on two or three possessions and then make a boneheaded turnover. It kills the atmosphere.
It's just like Neyland: when the team is playing well (win or lose) the crowd responds; when things suck they sit on their hands & watch. Vol fans have a history of not keeping on when things get tough.
Hey buddy if you were there you wouldn't have done it. Everytime we scored we got loud but then they'd hit a huge shot and stay out in front. Wouldn't have mattered this team can't play Posted via VolNation Mobile
I believe it's not as loud right now due to the fact that students are away for the winter break. In fact, I'm sure that is the reason. But yes, watching on tv last night, the crowd did seem extremely quite except for when we would catch up, or go ahead.
Our fans will be 300% better when they realize 3 main things:
1. Get loud on defense.
2. Get loud if we are losing, it doesn't help when we're up by 20.
3. No need to waste your breath during time outs.
For the most part, the TBA crowd does the exact opposite.
