I agree with this . Not saying it was right I’m saying I think you hit the nail on the head . The bump stock became almost as big in the media as the words “ assault rifle “ and I think Trump and the NRA gave into to the one to take some heat off the other .

You're kidding yourself if you think a bump stick ban will pacify the anti-gun crowd. All Trump did was hand them a victory on an issue that had largely subsided. Anti-gunners won't rest until guns are totally outlawed.

I’ve never thought anything would do to pacify them until the ban all guns . Then they will move onto sticks , knives , forks , anything with a point on it . Like the euro elites do in their countries . It had not subsided , neither had the “ assault rifle “ issue , they don’t go away they wait their turn in the news cycle . Just like if you listen really close you’ll hear that the left leaning media never says Semi Auto and when they can they will inject automatic when referring to firearms .

Seems like the furor over bump stocks had subsided considerably. I dont recall hearing anything on the subject for several months until the ban was announced. Again, it appears Trump handed the anti-gunners a victory for no apparent reason.

I posted "why". It's the definition of "arms", and "arms" is much different than you wedging "firearms" in as the verbiage of the amendment in question.
