This team has been to Omaha 3 out of the last 4 years and finally won their opening game...this might be a National Championship team fellas. Need pitching to improve immediately though.

I was going bananas and literally played the first 4 tracks from Pantera VDOP on guitar before trying to sleep. Still up. What a game!

I'm like you. In fact, we were watching from a dinner party at a friend's home last night; When Vols were down 4-9 I told my wife "Let's go home". We did, & I didn't turn on the radio nor the t.v. when we got home. Went right to bed. Son called later to say "Had it all the way"...thought he was being sarccastic, then he realized I was ignorant of the result. These Tennessee Volunteers baseballers are just amazing! This old curmudgeon got his face rubbed in it, & it felt GOOOOOD! :cool:

Wonder if they are also complaining about all the strikes that were called balls they got the benefit of in the first inning alone.

Well they need to go back and watch the umpire call a ball on strike three a couple of times that would have ended the inning without them scoring a couple of runs. Gotta look at the whole game, not just a slice. Wonder if FSU still wants to join the S.E.C. ? :)

My dad texted me he had to be up super early today so he was going to bed, but was taping it and would watch with his coffee this morning. I told my husband I hope he didn't see the score before he finished the game
He wouldn't need the coffee to wake up. Lol

Yes. I saw that. I talked to Tony after the game, he called me, and told him that he really didn't need to talk about that to the media. I told him he should just take the credit and move on...I'm good here.

I think that’s the thing about this team. I don’t know that they have anymore that game than any other. Had they lost after coming back within striking distance, that would have been tough emotionally.

On the other hand, they have won a game, faced tough adversity, and found a way to win. This game helps them more than it hurts. IMO

We’d be saying the same if the roles were reversed as it was about as close as it could be. Easily could have been called differently - the baseball gods were on our side with that 50/50 call.

Yep. And every championship team needs a few breaks to cut their way to win it all. We finally got one in a big moment. I won’t lose sleep over it. But I can understand why FSU fans will.

Hope it worked for him. Even with extra time callout my DVR shut off as Stark was coming to the plate. That could lead one to a sad conclusion. Right now is earliest replay I could find.

I will say he most likely went. I won’t say it’s definite because the hands didn’t break. He kind of pushed the bat across the plate but never snapped his hands. Again, he probably went, but it’s so close I’m glad the umps didn’t end the game on a check swing (easy for me to say though, as a fan).

Either way, breaks happen. FSU had a ton of chances to put us away and couldn’t. This guy on Twitter last night spent time tweeting out every close call that went FSU’s way in recent sports memory and I was just laughing. Sometimes, you get a break. It’s all about if you capitalize. And we did.

Agree but I was just as hot as they are with the strikes called balls that gave them runs and keep them in innings.

With human referees there are usually bad calls both ways. Sometimes it is one side but last night there was terrible on both sides.
