Numerous guys have been projected lottery pick after freshmen year and returned to school? Lottery pick as sophomores and returned to school? Lottery pick as juniors and returned to school? Why not? It's happened numerous times over the years and it's usually been from a kid who's family value education and ethics over money and fame. If you have ever met them you'd know how important those values are to him and his family. I don't think anyone should turn down guaranteed millions over education but everyone doesn't feel the same way. His family has some wealth I believe so it's not like he is currently struggling. I'm just saying it would not surprise me at all to see him in Knoxville for 2-3 years.
JJJ plays the 1-4 positions on this team. He is the only player on the team that can come close to doing that on both ends of the floor. Because of his versatility, the fact that he's probably our best perimeter defender and is one of our best rebounders is why he will spend more time on the floor than the others.IIRC you’ve also claimed JJJ as the best player, and that he would be running the offense as well as starting and getting the most minutes.
Numerous players over the years in every sport, not just basketball. It's happened less in basketball but it's happened. Sadly the ones that chased and missed that money should have stayed in school.Numerous guys have been projected lottery pick after freshmen year and returned to school? I’m curious, you say there’s been numerous, can you name some basketball examples? I can’t think of any?Numerous players over the years in every sport, not just basketball. We need Big O to bulk up a bit more, he's got some talent for a big body I feel. Looks like JJJ may have grown an inch or so. Bailey looks good as well.Maybe there was some merit to the "Springer is out of shape" offseason storyline as he is noticeably less shredded than Bailey, Johnson, JJJ, Pons, Anosike, etc.
Kris Dunn was at Villanova for 4 years, Hachimura was in college 4 years, Washington played 2 years at Ky, Hunter from Va was in school for 3 years, Cameron Johnson played and graduated from North Carolina. Like I said, there have been several that stayed in school well past 1 season.Any this century? Lol
Anosike reminds me a little of myself, even at this ripe old age.Good lord, there are some big dudes on this squad. I was a little worried Anosike had some of that “baby fat”, looked a little like Grant early on, but he looks pretty damn jacked and in shape in that picture. Pons is an absolute freak show.
We don't want him getting that lean... he uses his body in the lane he needs that power. Looks like most of the team has chicken legs minus him, Pons, and Anosike. He might not be lean but he's got some big quads no homo.Maybe there was some merit to the "Springer is out of shape" offseason storyline as he is noticeably less shredded than Bailey, Johnson, JJJ, Pons, Anosike, etc.
Unless you have met and talked with him in the last couple months, I’d say your feelings are based in the former idea that he wasn’t likely a one-and-done impact type talent. That has seemingly changed, his stock has soared, and we are now operating with new information about his stock and potential. Furthermore, if KJ is projected as a lottery pick, and his parents advise him to return to school, they are giving him terrible advise. School will always be there. His mom being a former D1 scholarship athlete, and his father seeming to have a level head, I really doubt they’d take a potential multi-million dollar gamble. Most definitely, now go tell his mother and father that. I'm just saying that not everyone sees it the same and I'm only guessing based off personal evaluation after meeting and talking with Keon a couple of times.
