Teams we need to pull for

I have heard several national sports writers this week comment on our loss to GA that the score does not reflect the real domination. That our loss was every bit as ugly as Oregon's. So not sure we can count on that to give us an edge there.

UGA Total Yards: 571 against Oregon, 387 against Tennessee (Most of the yards for TN were in the first half, only 72 yards in the second half - for Oregon it was about half and half)
UGA Passing Yards: 439 against Oregon, 257 against Tennessee
UGA Rushing Yards: 132 against Oregon, 94 against Tennessee
UGA Turnovers: 0 against Oregon, 2 against Tennessee
UGA First Downs: 26 against Oregon, 18 against Tennessee

Turnovers: Oregon had 2, Tennessee had 2
Penalties: Oregon had 5 for 35, Tennessee had 9 for 55 < This was probably a large factor as it hindered the flow of the offense.

Total Yards: Oregon 313, Tennessee 289
Oregon - 87 of their yards came in the last drive before the game ended.

After the KY win folks were talking about how the TN defense shut KY down. They basically did the same thing in the second half to UGA but no one, no one wants to recognize that.

We lost because the offense was not clicking. A lot of that was self-inflicted with penalties that either disrupted our rhythm or occurred at the wrong time and stopped the drive.

I hope we get another chance at UGA and I would not want to be them if that happens.

And least we forget - when we beat Bama, the media said it was the Bama miscues and not us - but with the tables turned - it is a different story.

We want UGA to win out.
We want Oregon to drop another game.
We want TCU to lose a game they should win.
We want whomever wins tOSU/Michigan game to win by several scores.

Looking at it, that's a lot of help to get into the CFP.
Honestly, words can't express how I will feel if we make it in the Top 4 but will still be beyond ECSTATIC if we finish in that 5 thru 7 slot and go to the Sugar Bowl.
Still be an EXCELLENT finish to what has been a most memorable and historic season !!!

Before the Nega-Vols chime in, I haven't 'given up' or 'settling' on my expectations for this team...my expectation is for our men to win every game they suit up to play.

Funny, but we are now on the top of about 20 teams list of teams to root against. Up until GA, everyone wanted us to WIN but, now if we lose again, it will open the door for as slew of teams to join in the playoff conversation.

Good to be on a list but, not good to be on a list of teams who are rooting for us to lose.
What?
That affects this team how?

While everyone is rooting for these teams, please add the Detroit Lions to your prayers. Thanks in advance. šŸ˜Š

We need the Top teams we beat to keep on winning. If Ole Miss beats Bama , our Bama win makes our resume weaker.

Sure it's a slight ding to our resume but that's hardly enough to definitively say "we donā€™t have a shot at all for playoffs" Plus Bama's name and that win still will carry a lot of weight regardless if they lose again or not

Georgia loses to LSU thatā€™s one more team to fight to get in the playoff. They might be selected in over us.

They would be selected, but there is no one else left. 3 SEC teams and the Big 10 at that point. 1 loss TCU, 2 loss Oregon, 1 or 2 loss usc, 1 loss Clemson, 1 loss big ten. None of those jump the Vols.

Donā€™t forget we need Georgia to win out and win the SEC. If they get beat by LSU in Atlanta, we are out of the playoffs.

I donā€™t think you can make a guarantee on that. They shouldnā€™t be passed but the selection process is political and there will be a push to involve teams from other conferences with 1 loss.

What if Bama beats Ole Miss. and Arkansas beats LSU that leaves all 3 tied with 2 SEC losses BUT LSU has the tiebreaker and A OOC loss to FSU. That would put a 3 Loss SEC west champ vs UGA. Then if LSU upset UGA how do they put a 3 loss team in playoff.
One scenario that could happen but ARKY beating LSU more likely than 3 loss LSU upsets UGA in SECC.

LSU isnā€™t beating UGA. If we couldnā€™t do it, they certainly canā€™t. They need to go ahead and stop with that delusional ridiculousness. Now, if TCU or a PAC-12 team get in over us, so be it. Iā€™ll enjoy watching them get destroyed in the first round while we celebrate a sugar-bowl curb-stomping.

I agree LSU should stumble against UGA. I made up my mind to stay away from Tuesdayā€™s ESPNā€™s playoff show as itā€™s just TV drama to stir controversy among the masses. Itā€™s similar to a TV series ending on a cliffhanger so the audience ā€œtunes inā€ the following week. Itā€™s all noise but my hope is:

1. TN stomps the šŸ’© out of Mizz, USCjr, and Candy
2. TCU loses to Texas or Baylor
3. Oregon and USC/UCLA lose another game
4. Bama and UGA run table.

Tvaks die

This week -
1. Texas
2. Bama
3. Washington
4. Nebraska
5. Indiana
I never thought I would be saying, "Root for 'Bama," but I am yelling it from the peak of Rocky Top. Every impressive 'Bama win makes our win over them, look more impressive. If 'Bama loses or looks bad, then our win may not impress the CFP voters. Roll Tide!

Eh, weird stuff can happen in conference championship games. Especially if one team knows theyā€™re going to the playoffs no matter what and one team thinks theyā€™re playing to be the first 2 loss team ever.
