Tebow a fit for the Dolphins?

So what draft pick would you take Vince Young with? I'd take VY over Tebow at the college level any day of the week. Vince doesn't even seem to be worth a 7th round pick anymore so what's the appeal in Tim Tebow? VY is definitely a better athlete. Tebow isn't running over anyone in the NFL. Vince Young can barely out run defenders so Tebow won't be doing that either. Tebow is not an NFL quarterback. He doesn't even drop back to pass. Good luck learning that against NFL talent when you can't even do it against college talent.

Really?

I find it funny you would tell someone that's why they post on message boards and aren't an NFL GM. 1) You're doing the same thing. 2) Ryan Leaf, Alex Smith, Vince Young, Matt Leinart, Mike Williams, Charles Rogers, Robert Gallery... how'd those picks turn out? What about Kurt Warner, Cortland Finnegan and Marques Colston? I guess every GM did a bad job there seeing as one went undrafted and the other two went in the 7th round.

GMs make mistakes. Don't get carried away like you did with Vince and start saying that we are as smart as they are.

You are pointing out that it is an inexact science. That is precisely why neither you nor your colleague are qualified to make such bold predictions regarding who or who will not make it in the NFL.

Funny you should mention Alex Smith. Everytime I think of Tebow going to the NFL I think of the awesome career Smith had under Meyer at Utah. (similar to Tebow I'll add). Then what a bust he was in the NFL.

I am a football nut and since the game is over how about a little discussion from the Gator followers. I watched the Indy vs. Miami game last night and couldnt help but notice, out of all the NFL teams,:dunno: I think he would fit in the Dolphins Wildcat pretty well. Any thoughts!

Well as a Dolphin fan I wold certainly welcome Tebow as a member of the Phins...Of course the wildcat formation is the reason they drafted Pat White last year too and they are still working on packages for him to run it, but Tebow would be the perfect fit...I just wonder if He would still be available when the Phins pick comes up :dunno:

Why? The consensus amongst those that get paid to evaluate talent is that he will not be an NFL QB. Mel Kiper and Todd McShay aren't just running their mouths, they know he won't be a QB and they talk to plenty of NFL scouts that know he won't be a QB.

That's all fine and dandy, but Kiper and McShay also had Alex Smith and Jamarcus Russell high on their boards and look how they are panning out. I'm just saying that I wouldn't be so fast to count Tebow out. The guy has more will and determination than I have ever seen. The guy is a winner with an outstanding work ethic.

name a heisman qb, or a qb hyped like tebow, who didnt' get drafted in the first round and ended up even mediocre in the pros? guys like tom brady or kurt warner who slipped through the cracks were not hyped in college. my point is that tebow's success if far more likely to get him drafted HIGHER than he should be, rather than the other way around.

Supposedly, the Jaguars have done some phone polling in the area and have determined that the payoff in season ticket sales will be worth using a first round draft pick on Tebow even if he's a complete bust.

If I were Del Rio, I'd saddle up and ride if that happened. Of course, he may be asked to leave anyway.

This is precisely why you are a guy posting on a fan message board and not an NFL GM.

Not discounting your opinion, because I think he will stick in the NFL for a while honestly.

But I don't exactly see NFL GM listed anywhere in your signature, so how are you more qualified to tell him when/where he would draft Tebow?

As long as the Cowboys wont have to play him then I dont care where he goes. Unless he plays for Dallas

I don't claim to be an NFL GM. I'm not the one who is saying "Tebow will not be an NFL QB".

I'm the one saying that unless you are an NFL GM or scout you just don't know. Is it really that hard to understand?

why? there are plenty of people who play golf well who aren't professionals or pick stocks etc etc etc.

Goofy argument. There is a reason the NFL doesn't use these VolNation message board experts instead of paying good money for GM's and scouts and there is a reason Morgan Stanley Smith Barney isn't managed by someone who is a "good stock picker".

I never said he would be a high draft pick... I said I wouldn't be so fast as to count him out for being a NFL quarterback...
