Uf's quaterbacks don't have a strong resume to back up your theory. He might could transition to another position, but i don't see him as the next coming of steve young like some tried to compare him too last year. Thats a pretty far reach if you ask me.
I don't think it matters. He knows he won't make a nfl squad as a qb. Vince wasn't a qb either. He's got the size to play a couple different positions in the pros. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play pro football at all, by his own choice.I agree about UF's Qb's. He isn't any less talented than Vince Young, but then he really hasn't panned out either. What's going to hurt him is having played in the spread during his college career.
Arent they trying to address that this year by putting him under center more?

If hard work trumps talent, why isn't the winner of Army v. Navy in the BCS title game every year?

The ball still has to bounce a certain way. Even with all the work and talent in the world. You have to get a few breaks in the course of a season. You know, its obvious that talentless teams can't win, but it is equally obvious that you can have plenty of talent and not win if you don't work hard and prepare, see e.g. Tennessee circa 2005.
All Tebow is saying is that he and the Gators aren't resting on their laurels and realize that as much as they have around them they are going to have to hit the weights and run and be at practice at 5 in the morning and watch film and do all those other things that it takes to transform talent into actual W's.
Work ethic is important, no matter how inately good you might be.
But then again you knew that was exactly what he was saying. And you actually agree with it. See e.g. every post you ever made about Fulmer and the lack of work and desire that permeated UT for the last five years.

Thats one of if not the main reason you don't see many back to back champs. The ball just doesn't bounce the right way that often. What happens if tee martin doesn't sail that ball over the receiver's head in 99 at arkansas and he catches it? We play for another title that year. Its a oval shaped ball that bounces funny sometimes.Oh, without question.
Tell you what, looking back on it, that 2006 Gator team may have been the luckiest team I've ever seen, week in week out. They were good -- turns out perhaps very underrated defensively -- but there were a good half dozen or more plays that could easily have gone the other way and derailed that season, completely.

But got to hand it to a guy in his shoes, with a Heisman, two national championships, and all the fame thrown his way, he gets up every morning and emails everyone to get their butts moving, spends every day working on passing drills with his WRs, and goes to the gym to add even more muscle.
The "craphole " school you speak of is ranked as the 17th best public University in the country and #1 in the SEC.
