Tebow would change...

Milo, Vince has indeed looked good at times, but that is off topic.

QB is the hardest to predict, but what is it that the scouts are looking at? Intangibles will only take you so far, I personally think that his mechanics are so bad ( which they are ) that he is a lost cause at the QB position.

Vince is not off topic, his case coming out of college is a very relevant one to Tebow's now in comparison. Go watch videos of VY throwing the ball when he was at Texas. His form was about as bad as you'll see in a BCS conference. He's overcome it to become an NFL starter with some wins under his belt. So too can Tebow.

I agree to some extent. The main difference when watching Vince and Tim deliver the football is the speed at which the ball comes out. Not saying Vince is a gunslinger but although Vince has an awkward delivery he still gets the ball out fairly quickly. Tebow has a very long wind up type delivery that gives any DB a jump on the ball, in the NFL that will get you killed as a qb. This will be his biggest hurdle to overcome IMO. Some mechanics can be coached or altered, a delivery like that has to be totally "rebuilt" and is much harder to do.

Just my two cents on the subject.

You have to admit there are quite a few surprises. Who saw Tom Brady lighting it up? I watched Chad Henne play for four years at Michigan as well, and I never thought he'd make it. Would you have guessed that VY would be doing better than Leinart at this point? You can get an idea, but I feel like there are too many variables.

Henne's arm is strong as hell, played in a pro-style offense and played well at Michigan. Not sure what you didn't see there.

There will always be exceptions to the rule. Your right, there is a lot that goes into a QB's success.

From what I have seen from Tebow, here is my assessment, no bias.

He has very sloppy footwork, a long delivery that is also three-quarters. He panics when he is faced with pressure. Rarely goes through all his progressions, instead he tucks the ball and runs or scrambles until someone breaks free.

In the NFL, they will eat him for lunch. Jump his routes, confuse him with coverages. He will not be running over Ray Lewis...ever!

I'm no scout, not claiming to be, just an average football fan.

Agree.

Worth more than 2 cents, sir.

To be honest, I never paid much attention to his arm. I just didn't like the duo of him/Hart because I thought they were so overrated. They never accomplished anything significant, and I guess that just made me write off Henne in my mind. Clearly a mistake, but his best numbers came when he was throwing it up to Braylon Edwards.

What has got lost in all of this was Alabama going hard for LeMay. What are our chances for him? I know it's a long ways away.

I seen last year a piece on him where he had all kinds of electrodes on his body, monitering his motions of several parts of his body. People evaluating and showing his flaws in mechanics. A QB coach teaching him new mechanics. I think he looked better passing this year than before. He wasnt spot on every time, but who is?

As strange as it may look, Vince Young's release and velocity are way better than Tebow's . . . not to mention VY being about 4.5 in the 40. Plus Tebow drops the ball down low as if he's begging a DE coming off the edge to slap it away and cause a fumble.

Young's speed definitely did give him some more looks, and most will agree that Tebow won't be doing a whole lot of straight-up rushing in the League.

For the record, I'm with most on this board in believing Tebow will be a multi-position player and situational passer at best (Wildcat?), just playing devil's advocate like I always do.

i defy you to find a single example of tebow saying anything remotely insightful. all i'm asking for is one quote. shouldn't be too tough if he is a bright guy considering he's on tv 24/7and loves to run his mouth.

Sorry, I felt the need to add that.
