Ted Nugent For Mitt Romney: Rocker Stumps For GOP Candidate At NRA Convention

I don't have anything to say about the article. It is Ted being Ted. I mainly put it up here so I could ask this question.

Why on earth does some Conservatives give this Man the time of day?

Nugent himself said that 30 days before his Draft Board Physical, he stopped all forms of personal hygiene. The last 10 days he ingested nothing but Vienna Sausages and Pepsi, and a week before his physical, he stopped using the bathroom altogether, virtually living inside his pants caked with excrement and urine. That spectacle won him a deferment. He openly admitted that.

Not to mention he had sex with a underage groupie. Had back Child Support for years. Cheated on his various wives. Became legal guardian of another teenage her he was sleeping with.

I really don't get it. He is nothing more than a Gutless Chicken Hawk with a Gun obsession yet somehow he has a Rambo image to some on the Right.

Honestly I'm not writing this to piss off the Conservatives on here. I am just honestly confused. Nugent is about as much a Real Patriot as Reagan was a Commie Pinko.

He's a real POS. He is a racist, draft-dodging pedophile. Unfortunately, people love to hear him talk because he is articulate and does make good points from time to time. But to have this guy and Kid Rock campaign for you is pretty hypocritical. Then again, most politicians are scum to begin with and don't actually have any morals.

Oh and on a Side Note. I remember when is slammed Pantera's cover to Cat Scratch Fever. He said it had no soul, no balls" and "no feel," adding that the members of PANTERA appeared as "Ozzy-like zombies on TV" whose conduct on stage went against his lifelong anti-drugs and -drink stance.

Teddy on his best day you wasn't worthy of carrying Dimebags Jack Bottle. Dime could outplay him in his sleep.

there are nuts on each side. Unless Romney actively sought his support I can't see how it affects him at all

is his version of draft-dodging any worse than having a person call in favors to get NG duty?

No not saying it is but he is payed to write for the Washington Times. He gets the Red Carpet treatment at the NRA. He gets the same respect at Fox News also. I just don't know what possible appeal he could have to them.

I'm not going to justify anything he allegedly did in the past, but I keep hearing that people change over time and that who they were at 18 bears no resemblance to the person they are at 50.

Are you really going to crucify someone over what they've done in their past?

You know what they say about people living in glass houses.

Seriously I am sure you have heard some of the things he has said these last few years. I'm not saying that people can't change but when a Man that Crapped his Pants to avoid Nam starts saying others are Limp Wristed Cowards I have say Pot meet Kettle.

Since when has Ted been considered the paragon of virtue or darling of the right. I doubt conservatives anxiously await his endorsement.

Not defending the underage groupie thing but I bet it applies to pretty much every big touring band of the 60s and 70s.

My issue with Ted isn't that he is Conservative, Pro Gun, Anti Islam, or Anti Evolution lol. My issue is that he is a BLATANT Hypocrite.

If you Sh*t your pants to avoid Duty to your country. If you have sex with underage girls,ducked Child Support, and cheated on every wife you ever had, you don't get the right to trash those you disagree with by labeling them the very things you were once guilty of. Also with no proof to back up your claims you make.

People can change no doubt. None of us here doesn't have regrets, but saying things like Clinton is a Socialist C*nt and the President is a Coward piece of Sh*t is really beyond contempt. If you have a history of being a Chicken Hawk and a Dead Beat Coward then I sure as Hell don't think you opinion should carry any weight in a political or family values forum.

He's a celebrity so it gets Romney in the news. Doesn't have to have him on stage at the convention, but gets him on tv for a few more seconds in April, can't do any real harm.

I agree in those days it wasn't looked upon the way it is now but cmon. He made himself guardian of the girl is was having sex with. Might not have been illegal but damn its takes a special type of Scumbag to do that.

Not defending Ted. I thing the premise that he is some darling of the right is overblown. NRA naturally likes him because he is a strong advocate of gun rights and has a large microphone. I don't recall him getting any place of prominence in theRNC

Never said he had prominence in the RNC. However Fox News and the Washington Times arent exactly fringe wingnut organizations. They are two of the biggest names in Conservative Media. I just don't understand why they give this clown the time of day.

Hell he falls below the standards of Free Republic.

I don't believe The Right props him up as Hero by any means. It just amazes me that Fox and others give him a voice at all. The only reason I can see why Ailes would have him on his Network is to piss off the Left. Other than that I have no idea.

I don't see the logic in their thinking. Hell the NRA has a huge Membership. I'm not a member but I own guns and have a carry permit. Finally his Microphone is providing by organizations like the NRA. LOL he doesn't exactly pack in Arena Tours these days. He was in Memphis not long ago at the New Daisy and he didn't even have a Full House then. ICP and Boondox had bigger draws.
