Hmm...Well, that is better for us. A singer being close to nashville is actually a good thing. But, as an actor...no matter how much I love Tennessee...if my husband had a job in LA, I would never leave!

I have just grown to believe they (stars and coaches) always go where the biggest pile of cash is. He loves UT i'm sure but when recruited he seen it as his best oppurtunity to make it to the NFL. It wasn't the Rocky Top song he fell in love with. Truly hope he comes home to help our dire recruiting situation though!!

Well, it was done right either way

Jones offered him and that will keep the fans at ease

Tee just didn't say no. He respectfully came out, which shows he still cares about his image at UT

USC is a private school so I don't know if they disclose salary. Wonder what he makes now and I wonder what UT offered? I would have thrown tons at him...........

Yes, imagine the difference between 250k - 350k in Tennessee vs California........

No brainer if you are talking financial decision only!!!!!

I agree with this. He would have come out regardless out of respect. But, he brought his family. That makes me think either A. he is serious about the move and wanted to introduce his family to Tennessee or B. he is trying to convince his wife to move.

The last time this site had an article about someone "mulling" over UT job it got our hopes up. This could be a bad sign again...

I really hope he does come, but my gut feeling is saying he will respectfully decline. I think Tee probably wants to come, but the wife is going to be the ultimate deal-breaker (although we'd never know it).

Stays at USC...mainly due to his wife's wishes. In 2 years is let go by new staff at USC.

If he stays at USC, he's still coaching like he wants, and she's in a good place for her career. So it makes sense for him and his family to stay, because both of their careers could thrive there. The wild card is how bad does Tee want to be at UT? If this is something he really wants, then I think he spent this trip trying to sell the idea to his wife. Nashville wouldn't be a big draw for her(I'm guessing), but Atlanta might. And it would afford Tee more time with his son. Another big question is where she's at in her career? Has she reached a deadend, and if so, has she accepted it and is now looking forward? I would think TN would be a more attractive place to raise a family than LA.

In the end, I think he stays at USC because it's somewhere they can both do what they want to do. It has nothing to do with her "calling the shots". Marriage is give and take, not a one-sided affair. He can coach football, she can chase her singing aspirations. It's a win/win for the Martin family. I don't see it as a slight to UT. It's a man putting his wife before his alma mater, which is as it should be. So people shouldn't be butthurt if he says no.

It's tough!! SoCal is nice, especially when you are making enough to truly enjoy it. Money in K-Town compared to LA is a huge raise in itself. I've heard his wife don't have the huge ego that most performers with one name have. It was also kind of refreshing to see her pushing the baby stroller at the Airport as well.

Never know, what if him and CBJ didn't agree on philosophy?? Could be a lot of factors involved here.
If he Left Knoxville, just thinking about it, I dont think he comes. Hope I'm wrong!! And I don't think he would use his Alma Mater for a raise.

I hope we are thinking too much about toya wanting to live in la. I mean she is a d list celebrity if you can even consider herself one. She had a top 20 song over 11 years ago now so it's not like she is still relevant. Tee Martin is a championship winning QB and a rockstar Knoxville. I know it's Knoxville but I feel like it's better to be the star in knoxville than unnoticed in LA

If he's half the coach everybody says he is, and all the CBJ bashers end up being correct (and I'm not one, but they may be right only time will tell), it seems like making the move to UT right now makes the most sense for his career.

If we were, heaven help us, to go thru 3 more years of dog poop, seems like he might well be a good HC candidate at that time? i hate to look at it from a doomsday perspective, but if he wants to be a head coach someday, I think it's more likely to happen here than out west.

As an artist, I can tell you...it's not about celebrity. It's about opportunity. As a mother, I can tell you it's not about opportunity for yourself...it's about opportunity for your children. The heart out weighs the ego. In the same way that Tee's alma mater, most likely, outweighs his current job. But just like everything else in life, you have to do what is best for everyone. It would be nice to win one, though. My Vol ego is way bruised.
