You Aldo have to consider the fact that Kiffen is on the hot seat. Do T's job may be in question at USC. They aren't happy with Kiffen. Another year like this one and he and his coaching staff are gone

Toya, his wife, is not singing anymore. She's a "former R&B singer". She had one hit that you might remember 11 years ago in 2001 called "I do".

She might have a say in it but in the end she's not bringing home the bacon, so to speak, he is. Also, Kiffin is on the verge of getting fired so that automatically puts Tee looking for a new job when that happens. He has every reason to come to UT.

There is a realistic possibility that Kiffen loses his job next year. Hope Tee takes that into consideration.
This. Plus, you have higher costs of living in CA. Every where you turn, they are digging into your wallet. Take vehicle registration, for example. In Putnam county (TN), it's about $30. Rutherford county (TN) it's about $80. In CA, a small pickup is about $300. A large pickup is roughly $500...again, just to renew your vehicle tags!

They have not only State Income tax, but sales tax too...and it's just as high as TN's sales tax. They just re-elected Jerry Brown as the Governor. He's a super Liberal, who never saw a tax hike he didn't like. In fact, on election day this year, they had a State vote for yet another tax hike.

So, it doesn't matter if the Misses likes it there or not, you get tired of the BS after you've lived there a while.

If his wife was truly concerned for her recording career I would think that the nearby Atlanta R&B industry would suffice for her. But I doubt she is still interested or she is too past her prime for that to be a major factor. Of course if she's interested in pursuing acting as a lot of performing artists do, then that's a different story. But I still think this is mainly Tee's decision. I'm guessing his impartial agent is telling him a somewhat lateral move to a struggling program wouldn't be in his best interest. I voted he respectfully declines. Hope I'm wrong.

As was mentioned, USC is struggling themselves...to the point that Kiffin is on the hotseat, and kicked his old man to the curb = less stable than UT's situation.

Tee is probably just like me. From the South but once you experience West Coast life there's no going back.

I'm back...because I prefer to be. After being shaken down at every turn and taxed out the ying yang...as well as not seeing much vegetation, you realize you should have never left to begin with.

been to LA and Vegas many times. Vegas is in not even close to being a West Coast life. Santa Monica, yes.

If you're really intersested in a coching job you don't bring along the family across one side of the country to the other for one day. Tee could've easily came alone. The trip wasn't to sell Tee on UT but sell UT & Knoxville to the wife and son.

I would love to see him come back! My gut says no though. Then the USC Kiffin lovers on ESPN can make fun of us some more on how we couldn't land one of our own from Kiffin. If Butch offered the OC position that would have been hard to walk away from and might land him. This would be a lateral move, the money would have to be a big increase.

She's probably not singing about losing her dog and drinking Bush ponies

Ha! Count, you are such a ball buster! There is plenty of music that comes out of Nashville that is not "Country"!

(forgive me if this is a duplicate post...my mac is failing me!)

LOL Count!! Haven't heard bush ponies in sometime.

volgrl, I didn't think those things ever failed. :)

Hovering around 58-59% that he is coming. Wishful thinking? Perhaps....

Poll was around 60-61% last night, so it has dropped a bit.......

I wonder if Tee has voted in this poll? Lol.

I think his wife, who is a professional singer, will be the deciding factor; LA, Vegas, etc. Although I wasn't aware that Tee had a son at Powell middle school by another relationship. Went to see him play basketball last night. I really hope he comes, but IMO I think he stays at USC.

I think Tee comes to Tennessee maybe for the following reasons:

1. Tee is VFL
2. Kiffin's job is not secure
3. When he isn't coaching, he's on the road recruiting (mostly in the South)
4. His son from a previous relationship lives in Knoxville
5. No state income tax and lower cost of living
6. Recording industry is big in both Nashville and Atlanta

I think people are making way to much out of this. I would love to see him return to Knoxville, but if he doesn't......oh well. It does not make him a traitor to UT if he doesn't come back. Hell, Peyton Manning was trying to get Butch Jones to go coach at Colorado....haven't heard anyone calling him a traitor yet. Or maybe they have and I just missed it.

Good luck to ya Tee, whatever you decide. I would prefer you here, but it is your life and your call....

unless you want to give me a say in the whole thing. :)
